Do you have any other pics of it?

I've heard that you can place a small zip-tie around the secondary rod loosely so that it can move with little force, then when the secondaries open you tell how far.

Or mount a GoPro.

They?re glued down with peanut butter (resin, fumed silica, and blended CSM) and laminated over with two layers of 1.5 oz CSM and a layer of cloth (I forget the thickness on the cloth).

Awesome, thanks for all the info!

Those fuckers are laminated in there good. They?ll never have issues.

One thing I don?t like about the setup in the article is trying to laminate to aluminum. It?s not a good bond and will eventually have issues.

That makes sense.  Are the blocks glued to the floor with anything or just glassed in?

Here?s a set of tank mounts I did.

Any issues with the mounts fatiguing?  Any cracking around them?

The way you did it is the way I want to, but the article shows a strap tying the two mounts together to add more surface area to glass to.

there was an article in hot boat quite awhile back about this, they took the tank mounts and fabbed a bracket for both both of them then glassed the bracket to the floor of the boat, i think i still have the mag. i will check and get back to you, it was a pretty slick idea and i wanted to use it, but my boat was to far into the paint stage to change it  :banghead:

Does anyone happen to have this article.  I've seen/read it, and I thought I had it saved on my computer somewhere, but I can't find it anymore.

Thanks.

Edit:  Found the posting.

The No Wake Zone / Bilge
« on: June 13, 2022, 03:26:00 PM »
What is everyone using for coating in the bilge and how do you keep it clean?  I've got a 76 Rogers Super Cyclone and the 454 leaks a bit, nothing major, just the occasional drip here and there, this mixed with water wreaks havoc on the boat.  Tired of working my ass off to keep it clean and tidy.

I'm pretty sure I saw this boat on instagram throwing a roost this morning.  Good looking float.

I offered $701.  ;D  Shame it'll cost a grand in gas to get it to TX.

That same boat is now listed for 1800 and he makes mention in the ad that the first 1500 takes it.   Something seems fishy.

Sounds good !! I can?t get him to respond had three different people try and nothing !

Probably one of those asses who sells it and then doesn't take down the ad, then gets pissed that people keep bugging him about it.

Grimpala did you pick it up? Waiting for him to  respond to the wife on Facebook now. But no luck yet !

I've got too many irons in the fire as is, otherwise it would be in the garage next to the Chevelle and Rogers.

If he responds and you need someone to go grab it and hang on to it till you can make it to TX let me know.

From the one picture that shows the motor it looks like with a little contorted disassembly the motor will come out.  Not sure about the pump.  Any other pictures?

Nice looking boat, sorry to hear about your dad.

I run an Edelbrock RPM on my 454 in my Rogers and on the 383 in my Chevelle and love them for single carb setups.  The one int he boat is a standard and the one in the Chevelle is an airgap, either one will work.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Help identifying hull
« on: July 27, 2021, 06:58:51 AM »
Doesn't look like a bubble deck from the pics, which would mean it isn't a Bonneville.  It appears to have a deeper V than my Super Cyclone, but that could be the picture angle.

It looks to me like a Cyclone.

Which ever hull it is, you'll love it.  Rogers made an excellent boat, I drove from DFW to Sacramento to pick mine up I wanted one so badly.
