The No Wake Zone / Re: Where to retire?
« on: July 01, 2009, 07:02:14 AM »
How about TN. I moved here from San Diego about 5 years ago. Bought a brand new 3bd/ 2ba house for 80k, live 5 minutes from a huge lake, mountains(for biking)and there is no state income tax. Vehicle registration is 24 bucks a year for anything you own. A little hot and humid in the summer and pretty cold in the winter ( definately 4 seasons.) Gas is 2.69 right now.

THIS IS A BOAT I'M EYEING RIGHT NOW. IT IS AN 84, 20 FT ELIMINATOR. IT HAS A 496 AND A BERKELY PUMP. GEL COAT IS A LITTLE FADED. INTERIOR LOOKS GOOD OTHER THAN THE MOTOR COVER WHICH WILL NEED TO BE REDONE DUE TO ROTTING IN THE CORNER. NEWER MODEL TRAILER WITH PRETTY GOOD WHEELS. WONDERING IF $6500 IS TOO MUCH AND IF SO WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD OFFER.

The No Wake Zone / BUYING MY FIRST JET
« on: June 09, 2009, 04:25:26 AM »
IN THE PROCESS OF SHOPPING AROUND RIGHT NOW FOR MY FIRST JET BOAT. I'VE OWNED JET SKIS FOR ABOUT 6 YEARS AND READY TO GET SOMETHING MORE FAMILY READY. JUST CURIOUS WHAT ARE SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO LOOK AT WHEN BUYING. I GOT MY EYE ON AN 84 ELIMINATOR WITH A 496 AND A BERKELY. IT HAS BEEN USED IN SALT WATER. IS THERE ANYTHING OTHER THAN OBVIOUS SALT SCALE(CORROSION) TO LOOK OUT FOR IN A SALT WATER BOAT. ALSO JUST GENERAL CONCERNS TO PAY ATTENTION TO ON ANY JET BOAT.

THANKS IN ADVANCE
