Has anyone put LS power into their boats? If not why not?

Have been considering this for a while, my old man has an LS 6 hanging out in his garage, we were going to use if for sand toys but the grand idea of a marine application came to mind anythoughts would be great!

hey fellas,putting new gaskets (full rebuild)  on the 455.... does anyone use any specific type or brand (quality vs cost)  for the higher volume of water pressure marine application???

Also what do you think of this do-hickie to combat the milk shake?

the olds 455 runs decent but im fighting the milk shake, I think i need a better regulator for the cooling system, and I would prefer to use a sbc or bbc for the ease and cost of future parts... plus i have a pretty nice 350 for free to throw in there

The setup looks good on the 350 anything special done there?

ok guys, change of plans got a free 350!! cant go wrong, however needs to be rebuilt but thats code for a small beast  >:D

What are going to be issues swaping from the 455 to the 350?
what do you recommend for a good powertrain combination for family boatability and power going threw this thing??
any suggestions would be appreciated

Hey guys the wheels are turning again  :screwy:
I have a 70 camaro with a 350 lookin to put a 454
Considering selling the olds 455 and swapping for
The less tempramental more fuel efficient 350 for the boat

What do u guys think
What problems lie ahead for the swap

Hey guys going threw the 455 for the first time can anyone explain this hole?? looks like its been cut?  :screwy:
Pulled engine due to large amounts of water in the oil  :banghead:could this possibly be it?

any educated guess would be awsome thanks!

hey guys getting a late start on the boat for the summer, should have the time lets see if ill have the budget  :banghead:

pulled the stock 455 out yesterday, engine was filled with water pulled the mani, and valve covers everything looks good up top minus the coroated valves i could see...

looking to go threw fully for some added hp, any ideas, building on a budget , anyone have any compl heads??

also looking for a more agressive sound of course but still retain the ease and boatability any suggestions on cam and lifter sets?

any input would be great thanks fellas!!

Hey guys,

have a problem just brought out the boat for the season and went to fire her up....turns over but nothin.. :banghead:
455 olds(stock) ,2 tanks are half filled, new gas, new edelbrock marine carb, new fuel filter, new hose running to the carb, however I did notice that the throttle is not squirting fuel into the bowls at all and the lines running from filter to the tank are dry??? Im thinkin fuel pump anyone have a better idea?

Also what is involved in switching from mechanical to electrical? and which pump should I get from summit?
Any advice would be great before memorial

 been to Havasu a few times but its been a while, where is the best place to Launch and find a cove to camp at? Ive usually launched at cattail cove but I would like somthing closer to the bridge, but far enough away for the family to enjoy

Any Suggestions???

Had mine done in Victorville, for around  $3500 there are 4 colors  used and of course the  gel coat, if you want to see in dept pics ill email them to you, I thought they did a rather good job...Not much for cost analysis though so you guys tell me if that was a good deal

JBL subs and Kicker subs are great additions, and do wonders with just one. for speakers Infinity makes some good marine grade speakers but they can be a little pricey if your lookin for an exotic look Audiobahn on ebay will work  O0

I agree with these guys, Been wiring stereos for a while now and marine wire is over rated, best to use the low voltage stuff or put some epoy on your wires

Looking into a way to keep the Family boat running more consisntent, I have an edelbrock marine 1410 carb that is fairly new, its doing the job, but just seems to constantly need adjusting  :banghead: Could just be me...maybe I just dont have the mixture quite right :screwy:

What do you guys think of the Fast EZ-EFI???

Hey guys, I have a little problem I recently baught a 93 caliber 1 with a pretty good sound system however batt problems are comming into play  :banghead: but cant help it, when the ladies are shaken at Havasu can anyone complain...

Any way I have a 10 yr old system that consists of two 5 1/2s two 6x9 and two Orion 15" subs under the closed bow powered by two 2,000 watt orion amps....MONSTER BASS  The problem is the battery gets worn down to nothing after a few hours of play, I have been using seperate batterys for sound and crank but, this is getting old switching between the two  :mad:

Anyone have any thoughts on how i can keep the system with maybe a cross charge switch or somthing??? any web posts for equip would be helpful!!! perhaps could it be that the 10yr old amps are pulling to much??? I dunno  :screwy:

Hey guys, new to boating however durring an oil change of my 455 olds I noticed the oil has a milky discoloration to it, (Not as bad as some have seen on the box wrench marine engine build up video), but it just didnt seem right. I replaced the oil and filter once then ran the engine for 10 min and flushed again. the residue came out the same durring both flushes dark but milky looking....any thoughts???

If water is mixing what are the reprocusions of running the engine like that? :screwy:
