Over all I have been very happy with the boat.  The hull is very light.  It runs in the low to mid 60's.  I probably should just replace the oil pump and have fun with it for the summer.   Just seems wrong to have it out and  on an engine stand and not mess with it.     I have been on the internet all day drooling over shiney new engine parts. 

Hi.  New guy here.  Just sayin hello.  Going to be taking the stock 460 out of my boat soon because the oil pump seized up.  Probably some debris caught up in it.  My plan is to go through the engine while it is out.  It has been in there since 1982.  Overall it ran great except for some oil blowing out the valvecover breather and the dip stick.  I will do some searching on here for information so no one yells at me for not using the search button. 

My plan so far is to install new pistons to get a real 9 or 9.5 to one compression ratio.  Do some mild porting on the D3ve heads.  Especially on the exhaust side.  It has the through transom aluminum exhaust logs also.  The ports on those look TERRIBLE!  Probably get a valve job and maybee install bigger exhaust valves.  Do a cam change aluminum intake and a new probably 750 or 850 vacume secondary carb.  What I would really like is a recomendation on what parts work with each other.  ie: cam, intake, pistons.  I am not looking for max horsepower.  Just free up the hidden potential of the engine.  All because it needs a new oil pump!
