Martinez looks nice! Might get me over that way someday.  Most of the posts here on the river make it sound like Havazoo which will keep me away for sure. 

sign me up. sounds like fun. I just would like to get on the river and have some fun with nice folks. Not to offend anyone, but I am at the point in life where I can kkip the pole dancers ,boozers , mega boats on daddy's penny, thugs and whatever.  The less people the better. Kick back and enjoy. Since I have a old Tahiti, it aint no drag race either. Explore, enjoy, relax. Thats why I hit the water here in Az. I like my old boat and it gets me there an back with the old bbc making a nice rumpity rumpity noise that is comforting in its own way like an old friend. Maybe the river isnt for an old foggy like me.

where would you suggest a river newbie put on? interested in a nice cruise, place to eat, safe and uneventful cruise. easy put on, low current would be real nice. Also not finding my truck broken into upon return woiuld be a plus. If there was a budget place to stay along the river near my boat that would be a plus.  Probably a blue hair place at my age as I have no interest in the Havazoo crowd.

fwiw- the console is mounted to the kick board, not the floor. Plus, I ran short bracket between the console box at the top up to the thru bolts used to hold the rear view mirror. That way it doesnt flop around. Plus, heavy weights have a tendency to pop out of floor screwed mounts, unless you can get under the floorboards and back it up with a bolt and large washer to distribute the weight.  Since I put everything on connectors with a few tricks, I can get the console out in less than five minutes for winter storage out of site from thieves casing my bioat for free pickins. Gives my Rottie more time to clamp her teeth on their sorry a$$.

hardest part was deciding where to put the speakers as i use all the storage space i have now, and i dodnt want the speaker faces out where they would get bumped in by the cooler, skis and other flotsam (nautical terms for cr$p in your boat)

I ended up with them facing the rear under the seat overhang. Well protected. Plus we dont listen to the stereo underway, just when we are floating off the back of the boat anyways. Perfect.

Your tax dollars at work.  A friend gave me one of those fancy "your tax dollars at work" signs from some jobsite he was on as I was scrounging used material to make my stereo console.  This wood is TOUGH! It also appears sealed and is really nice. I guess it would be seeing as how the news said they paid $60k per sign. We really gotta vote these idiots out this fall.

nice cam. you can use it in the stil frame mode where it clicks stills every second or so, or run it in the video mode and depending on your card size get about 30 moniutes or more on the card of nice video.

note that you can leave the case ajar and the sound recording is significantly improved, but it will take on water of you submerge it.  I only mention this as if you have it mounted above your head it is pretty splashproof even with the access panel ajar (play with the latch and you can see what I mean, they mention it in the manual that came with mine, or go to their website and request a new manual).  Since I mainly use mine in MX the dust is what I want to keep out so I keep door firmly closed. Amazing little camera.  ps. if you use the cution cup to mount your camera, use a little silicone on it before attaching to a clean place on your hull (I know, all your boats are spotless, us guys here in the desert have dust magnets).
If you have a mac it already has nice editing software that you can add music or whatever. I just copy them to discs and play those on my computer.

Thanks for the pics. Started installing my pieced together system and youy pics solved my biggest problem...where toput thed fvront xsdet of speakers andc the deck itself.  I built 21 inch tower similar to yours out of marine plywood (a county sign donatecd to the project) thtat now house the deck and two 7 inch dual marine alpines.  I put the other two speakers (7 inch alpine marine duals) in the fre   r seat box aimed backwards protected by the seat overhang from being bumpedd b hy all the sh$uff that getds tossed into the vback.  I will post ome pictures this week as I finish it up. Next stop costco for a spare battery.

Me too. But have you noticed how many nice jet boats are conxstantly for sale on cl in phx?  Sheesh, wish I could do a ray and have several!
