MOUZER WILL BE THERE SATURDAY........................ :screwy:

Great driving and save by Vance on Sunday's first CJ heat when his boat appeared to take a bad hop on the charge off from the start flag and then maybe kited a bit too? ( I can only speculate as to what exactly happened as my vantage point from the exit of turn 4 put us at a visual disadvantage) However, Vance did a fantastic job of staying with it, driving thru it and getting back on track to complete the heat. A lesser driver would have panic'd and wadded it up for sure. Great job to all on the Lund/Creamsicle team.
Thanks to SCJB for their continued sponsorship of the CJ racers and class.

Thanks for the update Brittany. It's good to see the Lunds back out there and leading the class points to boot.

Thanks again for the info. Brad. I hope this all gets resolved soon and the CJ class can resume its flourishing and highly competitive   and entertaining status in circle boat racing. I'm sure, like you, all the other racers with boats sitting idle for now are really frustrated and looking for an equitable solution to this situation so you can resume racing and having fun. It seems a class rule update to limit hull configurations and maybe even lengths is in order to keep the playing field more safe and level so to speak. They have them in the flat bottom classes, seems this is essentially no different.

Ok, thanks Brad for the info. Are there any other associations hosting a comp jet type class currently? I guess it's a wait and see what happens type situation currently. Sorry to hear it's still bit of a challenged situation. Are the CJ'S not allowed to run GPS100 at all or was that just a single event situation where Ross denied the 2 boats entry? That call seems confusing to me. I was under the impression you could run just about anything in GPS 100 so long as you didn't break out of the speed limit. (note: I have not read the rule book)

Thanks for the reply Brad. You say he's not gone, does that mean his motor has been P&G'd and found to be legal? Is he still banned until he submits to a test? With the trouble created in the other classes by this boats displacement etc. do you think Ross is starting to see this as a bigger issue than just the CJ class dissatisfaction? Do you think he is becoming more open to hearing and considering the complaints from all class participants? Has there been continued discussions within the CJ class participants to make rule changes to limit or prevent these type hulls into the class for participant safety etc.? Are the class meetings open to the general public or are they for active members only?

Curious to what the status is on this class for 2018 now that the 702 boat is apparently gone? Has there been any discussions, plans, petitions etc. for rule change implement to prevent another entry of this type from causing disruption to the class safety and participation? Has there been any conversations between the regular class participants to resume racing and fielding a full class for the March race at B.W.? This class was the king of the show for a while and really fun to see the great head to head competition and growth. What's the future look like currently for this class?

ya, if you didn't machine the bowl to allow for the stuffer plate thickness that would certainly do it. How thick is the plate?
how did you go about verifying the clearance of the impeller to wear ring? Shouldered wear ring or non-shouldered?

How do I check the angle on the drive shaft?

Sent from somewhere in Cali

depending on the style of assembly you are working with a digital level by crafstman, stanley, home depot etc. works quick and easily with reliable repeatability. I use a short piece of clean 2" steel tubing to raise the height of the level off the u-joint to provide clearance for the levels length if necessary.

There's a great video that shows a demonstration of the importance of proper driveline phasing.  www.macsmotorcitygarage/driveline phasing.  Spicer (cardan joint mfg. co.)  recommends up to 2 degrees of joint angle. There's also a very good discussion on the perf. boats site of this topic in the dyno section. It rather important to get it right. I hope this helps.

well I was gunna till I read this. haha
nice build, vortec pro (I assume your familiar with him?) did a build with fully ported peanut ports and outstanding results ( post on pb years ago) For those with the knowledge and talent they can be massaged and used well for the right application. thanks for posting up your results.

to get the most accurate info. for your specific application call the piston mfg. tech dept. with the piston number and ask their recommendation for clearance. Make certain they know your building a jet boat motor and where you boat etc. (colder climates etc.)

in a word... yes, run it. It can extend the life of the fuel system components such as hoses/lines, diaphragms, o-rings , seals, gaskets, needle/n/seats just to name a few specifically in additions to GT's comments. good chit man

Jet Pumps / Re: B or G bowl on C pump?
« on: July 30, 2016, 03:03:31 PM »
I may be a little late to the convo here but if your still comparing look at (read that- measure) where the trailing edge of the impeller shroud  (large diameter) is set back from the suction housing bolting flange and the inside of the edge of the bowl bolt flange is where it flares out toward the vanes. Will the water upon exit of the impeller hit that straight/flat flange surface before it flows toward/into the bowl vanes or will it be beyond that I.D. flat flange area? You don't want the water to hit that flat "wall" upon exiting the imp. and have to tumble down it before flowing out into the large diameter before the vanes. I hope that makes cent$.

anybody recognize the name on the box behing the BBC headers? It's ??-Power as best as I can tell. Maybe somebody can figure that out and they be researched more sufficiently by that avenue?

Attractive looking pieces at a glance for sure. Price sure makes it tempting to give'm a try. I'm not impressed with the appearance of the welds of the primary tubes to the collectors. Additionally, I see no business address listed on the site. That's a cause for concern to me personally but I run on the conservative side with stuff like this. On the home page on what appears to be face book type postings of other misc. parts, components etc. I only saw a person named Fatimah Quyyam (sp?) listing new parts. That gives me the impression the business is run by people from the middle eastern countries. I don't do business with them in my Const. Co. Been there, never again. There's a couple turbo guys in the dyno forum on pb that have run the chinese knock off s.s. headers on their boats with positive comments to their performance but I think they were purchased off ebay so not sure who the distributor is. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. I hope to see some positive results with these headers and this distributor.

Jet Pumps / Re: A/T jet trim nozzle insert ? Help
« on: July 02, 2016, 10:14:53 AM »
it's certainly worth a try, especially if you can borrow an insert to see/verify. That being said, you may not necessarily notice the additional speed if any by seat of the pants. It might show up on a gps if your lucky. Typically insert changes are registered at the track in et. benefits. Are your AT nozzels dimensions specific to AT only or will they interchange with others? Are they larger OD than place diverters?

Jet Pumps / Re: Weld or replace

I wouldn't advise welding on cast alum. especially in that application. That appears to be a void in the casting causing the issue. I have a couple new and used replacement impellers if your interested.

Jet Pumps / Re: Weld or replace
« on: July 01, 2016, 08:09:42 AM »
I don't see a hole, maybe just my computer monitor but that appears to me to just be excess casting flash material on the surface. You could try to scrape it off with a chisle by hand or use a die grinder lightly with a small diameter, 120 grit cartridge roll. That's one of the things detailing an impeller addresses. If there is very much material there to remove the impeller will likely need to be re-balanced or at least checked. That's the high pressure area of the impeller, I'm surprised the apparent cavitation hasn't removed it already.
