The No Wake Zone / Question for Mr. Brad
« on: March 04, 2008, 05:36:57 PM »
Sorry I havent been around for a while. I've been busy helping take care of my dad. I've been working through a hip replacement with him and just havent had time to take part in the action. But I'm back and looking forward to the season and posting :-)

Here is my question... Im in the process of helping set up a web site for my old high school and was hoping to touch base with you see if you would be open to sharing where you got the template for the socaljetboats.com web site. It has the ideal format what my school is looking for. I'm just trying to help them out and was hoping to get some of your help.

Hope to hear back from you. If you like you can reply to my email address "airdown03@yahoo.com"

First of all.. I want to say THANK YOU to all the guys offering to help. I really and truly appreciate the  offers. The boat hasn't been sitting at all. Its been a runner and is still running (for now :-) knock on wood. However, I just wanted to do a tune up as a preventative measure to help it keep running and keeping me on the water.

A buddy of mine is going to spend the day with me on Sat and go through the whole thing and show me how to "Get er DONE"

As far as this Sunday.. I dont think I will make it. BUT YOU CAN DEFINETLY COUNT ME IN for NEXT WEEKEND AT CASTAIC.

On another note... How do you get those karma things assigned to your guys profiles???

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE OFFERS. I truly feel like I'm not alone in my Jet Boating Adventures. This is proving to be a GREAT site with a bunch of really cool peops...

They dont have to pull the engine to drain the oil, I have an oil drain tube.. So where does that leave me?

I have 76 Hallet Jet with a 455 Olds and Berkely Jet. I called over to champion marine in Canoga Park and got quoted $455 dollars for a tune up (not including parts e.i spark plugs, oil filter, oil etc) Im really new to all this and was wondering if anyone know of this place and if that is the going rate for service on Jet Boats. Any help and info would be greatly appreciated.

We are there at least one day a week. We try to make it out there on either saturday or sunday. As far as it being crowded. You will find yourself in a line if you get there after 10:30 but that just takes about 5-10 minutes to get through. Once your on the water, you will find it to be smooth on certain parts of the lake and REALLY choppy on others. The more boats the more choppy. There is no wind for the most part. And if there is wind, its a really mild breaze that comes in the latter part of the afternoon. Its almost pleasent as apposed to be bothersome. All and all I cant really complain. Its a 30 minute drive from my house and its cheaper than building and maintaining a pool in your backyard. The water is clean and refreshing and so is the air. You should give it a shot.

Were actually probably gonna be out there both days. We usually drop our boats at the West Ramp and go from there. Just give me a heads up as to what day works out better for you and we can take it from there.

I just recently signed up and am finding this site to be pretty cool. It would be really cool if we could schedule member trips to local lakes. Then we could really represent  ;D

The No Wake Zone / Re: any info on lake shasta?
« on: July 23, 2007, 07:34:20 PM »
Shasta is a great lake to spend time on. Its not too much of a party lake.... But it is a truly EPIC VACATION DESTINATION. The launch ramps vary depending on where you get your houseboat from. For the most part they are angled like the ones at Castaic. The only difference is that alot of the ramps are beat up and are not as clean and kept up as the ones in Castaic. However, you shouldn't have any problem dropping your boat. Once your in the water you will realize the paradise your in. There is an endless amount of coves that you can adventure in with out being disturbed. All and all its worth towing your boat up there and dont worry about the ramps. HAVE A GREAT TIME

Does anyone wanna get together and do some "SoCalJetBoats" socializing over at Castaic this weekend? My buddies and I are heading out and thought it might be a good idea to get a post going and see if we can group together.
