One Harmon Marine manifold for 460. Port Driver in most jets and v drives). $50. Located in Orange. The is one pit that looks like a small hole but it does not go through anywhere. It’s in the pictures.

Where do you live and how soon do you need it? I have one, at least 95 percent sure it's BBF since thats what was originally in my Rogers and that's what mounting hardware I had, I'll fetch it from the garage and get you some pics, send me your email or pm a phone, 40 bucks sound reasonable? I'm in Redondo, but spend half my time in the OC and also in Diamond Bar (which is where it is). If your near the river I'll be in Needles this weekend and the next. Cheers

A few days late, but that isn't a 429. It's a Ford FE, 390/427/428 series of engines (and a host of other displacements). Between the 2 center spark plugs there will be a casting number for the head, that wont determine size but could narrow some stuff down. Also, look along the block right above the oil pan rail, if you see three bolts on each side that go into the block about where you think the main caps might be that would be good as it would most likely be a 427. Else pulling a head is about the only way to determine the actual engine size.

If he rotates the arm 180 degrees then the shifter will be work opposite however it's hooked up now.

Does it still work? Because from the pic it looks like just the protective sleeve came out. Judging from the angle it makes attaching to the shifter arm even if you put a new cable in it will do the same thing. I think you need to lower the mounting point so the cable is more inline with the shifter arm. As long as the cable itself isn't broken (or seriously bent at that end) you should be able to use it for quite a while.

You have the Bonneville. They were all bubbledecks from what I know. The Bonneville TR is as stated 19 foot and has dropped chines. (A Rogers Cyclone has a flat deck and a steeper keel, and the Super Cyclone has the flat deck with the Bonneville bottom). Not sure if all those were available in 74.

No. It sounds like it's time to pull the pump apart and have a look at all the bearings, and also at the splines on the pump shaft an in the PTO. How long has it been since any of that stuff was checked? I'd say the thrust bearing is shot, won't know though without a teardown.

Yes, they are like a sleeve, I believe the proper term is cutlass bearing. They aren't expensive or hard to get, I'd just give Tom at Jetboat Performance a call, don't know where you are but that's where I buy my stuff. How were the packing seals? That would be something else I'd replace. If they were hard as a rock that would definitely cause a leak, although there are other areas, around the transom seal, how are the hoses, etc.

Doesn't look bad to me in the pics, you can always take a micrometer to it and measure if there is any significant difference between the area where the bearing/seals are and the part of the shaft adjacent to those areas. Was it leaking? The area where the bowl seal goes looks like it might be worn a touch but if it's not leaking then I would just go with a new seal and call it a day. As far as frozen bowls that probably refers to something that had water in it, froze, and cracked. I think they make a greasable insert/sleeve that goes into a bowl where the bearings go, after the bowl is machined of course. I'd replace the bowl bearings since you have it out.

Got the scoop and caps back from the polishers, 55 bucks for all to have them done. Not a bad deal. Also painted the gas tanks with some trunk paint I had laying around, since normal paint wouldn't cover the sanding scratches there from getting the carpet glue off. Came out ok.

« on: June 01, 2011, 07:33:54 AM »have a new project and first set of water injected bassatt over transom headers....problem is they are rusted out and need to replace the sections where the water lines bolt up. Dose anyone know what size bungs to replace these with and also what kind of fitting is used to screw into them? Any input would be great. Thanks
I go them from Mcmaster Carr when I needed some. If just one section was bad on one pipe, I'd say do it. But when you mention sections you are going to be better off with another set of headers. If you work at an exhaust shop, then maybe you could fix them so you dont have to keep repairing them.

Yes, the driveway was my "paint booth." It gets some flaws in it from that but I have shot two cars in the same spot and they still look good. I got lucky in that the afternoon wasn't breezy, usually the morning is better but I was busy taping it up. All the stuff came from TCP Global, was reasonably priced. I think I spent around 400 on paint and materials including tape, but not including a paper/tape dispenser, which I wish I had bought years ago, that saved a LOT of time.

It totally changed the look of the boat. I am very happy with it, especially since I couldn't stand the old color. Finished buttoning up most of the rest of it, the business end, the interior, etc. Now just need to pick up the scoop at the polishers, along with the gas caps, hook up some fuel lines, redo the trailer bearings and to the lake. Won't have any time to work on it til June though, just in time for summer.
