Boats For Sale / 1989 Omega Open Bow
« on: June 26, 2020, 10:18:09 AM »
We have decided to sell this boat as it is just not practical with the little kids these days.

Boat started life as an outboard and I gutted it added a lot to it.  Really all that is left is to get the gel coat touched up in spots and it would be all new.  We did go out for 1 run since it was built and shortly after we moved to Northern California.  It has been covered and then stored under a tent since then.  We had twins just about the time I completed it which obviously throws a wrench in anyones plans.

Everything in this list was what I added.
454 was rebuilt when I purchased
Berkley JB Jet Rebuilt by Jim Mclure
New Hydraulic Place Diverter
Built new seats and had them re upholstered
New Wire harness built with marine grade wire
New Faria Gauges
New Steering Wheel
New Floor and Carpet
New Radio and speakers
New Fuse Box
New Bilge pump with overide switch
New Dual Battery Set up
New Top Mount Starter
New Bottom Mount Alternator
New Marine Holley 750 Carburetor
New Marine Distributor

Literally everything is new.  The only thing used is the engine mount I pulled from another boat.

Trailer I completely rewired for LEDs and bought new wheels and tires for.  I have the parts to rebuild the surge break and will give to the buyer.

Boat drives great and has about 1 hour on it since it was complete.  I have a google box folder I can share with anyone for pictures and most receipts.  I will be adding more as I can find them.

Asking $9750 OBO.

Boat is located in Concord, CA 949-287-9186
Please ask any questions I will try to get all the answers I can.  If you shoot me a text I can share the file with more photos.

Thanks - Justin

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / First Run Test and some questions
« on: July 02, 2018, 07:04:18 AM »
Hi.
Been a long time member but havent posted much.

It has also been quite a project.  I got a 21ft Omega Open Bow that started life as an outboard boat.  Gutted it new floors/ carpet, Jet, 454,OT Headers Water injected,  new electrical, interior everything is pretty much new.

Took it to Elsinore for its maiden voyage and had a decent first test run.  Had a few issues I want to list here and see if the group can help point me in the right direction.

1. Fuel system is 2 tanks to a Tee then 1 line to the Fuel /water separator then Holley Red Elec fuel pump to the carb.  All of a sudden we lost fuel pressure.  Couldn't get it started to limp it to the shore when I decided to just climb to the back and squeeze each line in the system.  Sure enough after that it was fine and no more problems.
Any idea what would have caused this?  Wondering if I should remove the water separator and just run in line filter.  Tanks have new pickups and were cleaned prior to re install.

2. I am running one of those Blue Sea System Auto charging relay for the two batteries.  Voltage runs just under 12v when "on" and don't seem to ever see the led indicator come on that it is charging.  If I switch to both it jumps to around 14v.  I want to make sure I am actually charging but not sure if I am on "both" if it is charging or if it is just the two batteries combined.  Running 1 wire alternator. The big battery cable goes from alt to the starter then there is a ground wire attached in case I wasn't getting a good ground on the mount

3. My water lines are 3/8 @ the pump to -8an to 1/2 gate valve to -8an to pop off valve  to inlet on the block.  Then out the top it is -8an to overboard and -8an to basset t then to the headers.  Running hot at idle +215*  Have flow through the block.  My assumption here is my overboard line is too small.  Or all of them.  What should I do?  Once I got up to speed it came down.

My headers are Cut short.  Do they make extensions?  Or if I wanted to extend to get them over the back of the boat what should I use?

Overall boat ran good and got on plane.

And that is really all the issues I had besides some minor leaks and a stench when I got it home but I know how to fix all those.

Any help is appreciated

I would also trade for Over Transom Headers if you have

I also have the chrome tips.  they are straight  I believe 3.5" diameter. $100

let me know if you have any questions

thanks

Jet Pumps / Transom adapter pointers
« on: December 07, 2014, 04:57:16 PM »
Hey guys. I don't post much but read a lot on this site.

Long story short I am almost done converting a 21 outboard omega to a jet.

454 is in as well as the jet.  I went to put the TA  on and now not sure what to do with this hole where the plug used to be.

Also not sure if maybe I have the wrong TA as it seems there is a pretty large gar between the bowl and the TA .

Looking for any pointers you guys have so I can get this on there and move on to the next step.

I took pics with it off and then with it on.  You can see where the TA partially covers it.  Not sure if I should drill out a hole and keep it or plug it up.  If I drill it out there won't be much material there to seal up I don't think.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Random Boat Parts For Sale / {SOLD} Floor / engine BBC Mount Ski Tow
« on: September 24, 2013, 02:10:29 PM »
I have a ski tow that measures 47" long and mounts to the floor. I didn't get the base in the picture but it is the one that the pole screws into in the floor and then the piece next to the pole in the picture attaches to a 454 motor. So you will get 3 pcs total. 47" Pole, engine mount and floor base.

I bought a boat that it came with and am not going to use it.

$75 OBO

Please let me know if you have any questions. I prefer paypal as payment

I realize I am new here but am not new to selling through forums etc. If you need a reference my ebay id is clevj001 and my id on a Mopar forum I have sold a ton of stuff on is 6dart9 A Body Mopar Forum - Home of Vintage Mopars like the Dodge Dart and Plymouth Barracuda

Thank you

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Will this work on a BBC
« on: September 19, 2013, 09:13:08 AM »
I found this thing on Ebay and wnated to use it on my gen 4 454.  My motor plate has the mount for it.   the person on the other end of the listing isn't understanding what I am asking as far as bolt pattern and about the gear movement in the starter.  he keeps telling me it is a marine starter.....clearly
