Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Can somebody clarify how to properly adjust my hose connection/header water jacket valve?

Picture attached. There is the hose connection, with a Valve down the way towards the transom. When I fire it up on the trailer, I get water out of the exhaust, and Jet. Where should I run the valve? All the way right and it will stop, same as left. I had it about in the middle. Any help appreciated. At one point it was idling at about 220 degrees, at the dock after a few minutes of throttle linkage adjustment. Thanks. Logs and snails BTW.

The No Wake Zone / Anyone in so-cal do motor polishing/ boat detailing?

Hey everyone. The motor in my jet needs to be polished big time as well as a gel-coat detail. The valve covers, high rise and intake scoop are all cast aluminum and are kindoff nasty. I simply dont have the time to do it with a newborn baby. Boat is in ramona currently, and needs some prep before the season. Its an 18 foot bahner with a 460. Thanks! Compensation of course.

Hey everyone. Left the desert scene and picked up my first jet boat a couple months ago. 78 Bahner....and of course it wont start after sitting for a few weeks. It does not seem to be getting fuel. Brand new fuel pump did not cure the problem.

The fuel filter between the pump and regulator does not fill at all when the pump is turned on. Pulled the seperator filter and it only had a couple ounces of fuel in it.
The motor fires up with starter fluid.

Fuel tank pick ups? Hard to believe they would both go south at the same time. Air in the system somehow? Any help appreciated. Glad to be a boat owner still! Glad to be a part of the forum.
