Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Bog issue
« on: February 21, 2015, 08:10:59 PM »
Have a carb issue. Last season rippin around in my sanger seemed like it would run great but if I wanted to do a pass from a dig it would bog for a sec then go. 468 bbc high rise dual plane intake its got the good stock oval port heads mystery cam.. marine 750 holley vs's has #25 squirters pump cam looks to be white? Pulled the spring out of the secondary diaphragm housing.  The check ball is not in there. And it had a plain spring I threw a yellow spring in it. And buttoned it back up. Anyways question is do you guys think it is a primary side issue like cam or squirter issue or vacuum secondary issue where the secondaries are not opening up right away?? I dont see any black smoke out the stacks.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Dreaded milkshake
« on: September 03, 2014, 10:16:31 PM »
Bought my 77 sanger a few weeks ago have had it out 4 or 5 times second to last time I had it out I bought new valve covers and noticed there was a little milkshake in the corners of the heads. The Oil still looked good. So I cleaned it alll up slapped the new covers on and figured it was just some condensation. This last week I was out all weekend runnin my boat with ckaz and his tahiti and we were runnin em really hard. Had a great weekend. Came home checked my oil and its getting pretty greyish and there was slop in my breathers. Was thinking about stuff and rememberd the guy I bought it from always ran it with the water valve all the way open. Boat has wet stacks and Bassett t valve. No t stat. Has a water valve on the onlet and a water valve on tge outlet hose aswell. This has got to be way to much pressure for the engine. I know some guys run a pressure relief valve. And some guys run a 2nd dump hose to lower block pressures. The boat never gets hot cruise 100 115 idle 135 145 degrees. What is the best way to plumb and regulate these things? I know it might be a touchy topic. Not looking to do a t stat. I need a better way to regulate block pressure here.

Jet Pumps / Look what I found!
« on: August 25, 2014, 07:38:39 PM »
I bought a sanger superjet a couple weeks ago and have had it out 2 times and it runs great but just seemd to be lacking that top end... Looked under my boat to inspect the rock grate and intake area and boom lol a bunch of knotted mess! Used my snapon impact driver on the phillips screws and removed the rock grate and untangled some of the mess and took a pic. I cut the rest out with my knife. We will see how she runs this weekend.

Hulls / Calling sanger super jets!
« on: August 15, 2014, 01:38:27 AM »
Sorry the pics uploaded all weird. But just picked up a 1977 sanger super jet. I like the hull alot. Any one else have this hull? and or any input on this hull would be greatly appreciated. I know they came in quarter and full stringer styles and seems most full stringers were v-drives. Mine is 1/4 stringer but seems very solid. Current set up is a JG pump A impeller and place deverter with factory ride plate. 468 bbc high rise dual plane intake and marine 750 dual feed holley. Also has a cam of some sort not sure on any internals im going to pull a valve cover and see which heads it has tomarra. And one witb this hull please feel free to tell me your opinion and your set ups!

Interior / lower interior side trim.
« on: August 14, 2014, 03:21:33 PM »
I just picked up a 1977 sanger super jet and I am trying to bring her back to her previous glory. It is missing the small lower black trim that goes around the entire bottom of the inside of the interior as seen in this similar boat  does any one know where I can get this stuff? I think it used to come in rolls.
