So I'm going to just rewire the boat. I had some electrical issues at the avi with wires breaking so I'm thinking a short term patch isn't the solution here, thanks to the SCJB crew for jumping in and getting me through the weekend!

I'm going to order this kit from CP but is there anything I should know or any heads up before I gut this thing.

2 issues i already see are 1, this kit has no wiring for the lights, not that they worked anyways. And 2, I have dual tanks and there is a switch on the dash which switches the fuel tank gauge between the two. I'm sure I'm going to have to modify it but thought I'd ask first!

Fuel pump burned out on me. The vent tube melted causing the pump to fail. After some research over the weekend it looks like this carter 0-2208 is made from unobtanium. I did find a rebuild kit that I ordered this morning. Just kicking around options and I want to stay mechanical. Is the clay smith worth the price and plumbing in a regulator? Pro's con's etc...

Also the vent never ran to the arrestor and the arrestor with the barb is only available in 4" and won't fit under the hatch. Thinking about getting creative with some fittings on the 3" to make it work.

Boat is a 79 Nordic with a closed hatch. Thanks for the input!

Had a good time at the SCJB run this weekend! It was good to finally meet some of you. Anyways I was lucky enough to have the starter die on me while waiting to pull the boat out last night. Is a marine starter necessary? I have a closed hatch but always run the blower and open the hatch most of the time when starting it. Not trying to go cheap but from what I've heard most everyone is running a normal starter right?

My carb is leaking fuel out of the arm that connects to the throttle linkage. I'm sure it could use a rebuild. Who's the carb guru in So Cal?

Does anyone know what this plate is for on the intake? Is this an EGR block off plate? Regardless I don't think it's supposed to have that hole in it

So I'm going in a different direction so this has to go. First off let me say I am not a mechanic nor do I know a lot about jet boats other than they are frigging awesome!

I bought this as a project two years ago and it has been in my garage ever since it has not seen a drop of rain or water. It is a 100% complete boat that just need some finishing touches. The engine runs but does have some water in the oil. I think it was from when it was sitting in the desert I have flushed it once and it's a lot better but haven't touched it since. It's currently sitting on jackstands but the hubs are ready to be drilled out for the western turbine rims that come with it. Also included are the studs and the lugs. Just borrow your buddies wheels and come over and pick it up feel free to ask questions and below is a list of what I have done so far I will continue to add as I remember haha

Starts on first turn of the key
Rebuilt Holley 750 Carb
Western Turbine Rims
New blue electric fuel pump, regulator and hoses.
New water hoses
New scoop and spark arrestor
New rotor and plugs
New throttle cable
All gauges work
New stereo
Comes w Bimini top in good condition
All new wires and Led lights all around on trailer
2017 registration, mussel sticker and pti trailer plates

The Front plexi windscreen is just sitting on the boat, throws the pics off a little. Just saying..

A very easy project. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me could have this boat on the water by next weekend.

Does anybody know about Uni lug wheels on a boat trailer. I have these vintage Western turbine wheels and thought I would put them to use. I'm sure I would have to put wheel studs but I can't seem to figure out how to find the right washer. Anybody have any experience using these on a trailer?

I'm adding a relay and trying to wire up this fuel pump the right way. Yes I did it wrong the first time. For the main power should I add another power wire going straight from the battery or can I go from the distribution block mounted on the motor. I'm definitely going to run the ground back to the batter or block. Any input is appreciated!

Pulled it off my project and put a 750 on. Don't know much about it but I'm sure it needs a complete rebuild. Make offer or trade air scoop, 455 parts etc...

So after a few tech related posts I figured I would do a proper intro. This is my first project and I'm sure with the help of this forum ill have no problem at all. Thanks for the help already peeps!

So here it is my $650 dollar craigslist special. It's a 77 Caribbean with a 455 old and a jacuzzi 12wj jet. Feel free to chime in if you know anything about this hull.  It's been sitting in the desert exposed to the last 15 years. Aired up the tires and it survived the 80 mile ride home.

Replaced all the hoses, fuel pump and a rebuilt Holley 750 and it fired right up. There is water in the oil but I think it's from sitting and the PO I suspected have reversioned the water. Did 2 flushes and it's almost oil again and not getting any worse. A couple more flushes and a trip to elsinore will tell.

Anyways ill try to keep the posts related to this build here and please tell me I I'm doing something wrong. Looking forward to this.

Hey guys. Just drug a 1977 Caribbean out of the mud and I've been working on it the last few weeks. Surprisingly I am almost ready for a lake test but I need to replace the missing flappers.

This is a 4" exhaust and the flappers look like they should be completely round with two screw holes. I can't seem to find the right ones. Can anyone identify what flapper I need? Thanks for the help
