Jet Pumps / Reverse bucket
« on: December 02, 2017, 04:46:41 AM »
Greetings from Canada guys! Sorry I've been absent for so long. We lost our little girl this year, and I took some time away from everything. I am starting to rejoin the world, and now more than ever, I need to keep my mind busy. My question is this; what is the proper way to adjust my Berkeley reverse bucket so that my boat doesn't start taking off as soon as the engine is started? Or should I just put the throttle/direction lever in reverse while letting the engine warm up?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Air cleaner or no air cleaner
« on: June 13, 2016, 08:01:04 PM »
I am wondering if I really need an air cleaner or not. I seem to have miscalculated the height of my carb when I built my scoop, and now I only have about an inch of clearance. Does it matter if I run without an air cleaner on the lake, it looks like you guys run without them.

Jet Pumps / Impeller issue
« on: May 09, 2016, 05:25:36 PM »
I bought a used impeller, and while it is an "A", and does fit, sorta...
It doesn't allow the bowl to go on, holding it out by a half inch. Will machining off a half inch from the bowl side make it work?

I have a friend that has recently gotten into jet boats, and has started building a bbf for his. He is sure that a mechanical advance is best for his setup, I am of the vacuum advance persuasion. Any thoughts/arguments for or against either of these setups?

Jet Pumps / Gravel in my bowl
« on: April 22, 2016, 03:32:25 PM »
I finally get my engine tuned up only to find out there is a bunch of gravel hidden in my impeller. Now, not only have I had to fish out rocks and pebbles out of my diverter, but I also found pieces of impeller. Can it be repaired, or does anyone have an aluminium impeller they are willing to part with cheap and send to canada?

It is a 12JE Berkeley with an A impeller.

Can anyone identify the make/model of this boat? My brother just bought it as a project, and we can't find any serial numbers on it anywhere.

My brother just picked up this boat for a project, and we can't find serial numbers anywhere on the hull. Does anyone know what make/model it might be?

I am considering a cheap tbi setup to try to get more efficiency out of my 460. Has anyone tried this yet?

This is my new project. I might need some advice, but the price was too good to turn it down.
