Jet Pumps / Dominator Pump Leaking

Had an issue at Havasu this week. It seems as my pump is leaking...wear ring? Decent thrust with 2 people onboard. Could barely get out of it's own way with 4-6 onboard.

I took a video (stills attached) of what I believe is the problem and would appreciate opinions /thoughts.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Baffles

I just noticed that I only have a port side internal baffle.
With external baffles, are both internal and external required / recommended?

Quick question for the jet boat whippers:
95 Carrera
Stock Marine Power 454
Dominator Jet
Online manual states 8 quart oil pan. Plus 2/3 for each filter.
Did an oil change just before this trip. Drained ALL of the oil. Added 9 1/3 quarts of oil...2 filters.
Now its blowing oil into the bilge and bogging down while trying to get on plane. Pulled a filter yesterday and drained approximately 1 quart, which seemed to help a bit.
Question is am I on the right track as far as oil foaming and too much oil...or any other ideas?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Rochester Quad. Carb Idle Issue

I'm hoping GT or someone can point me in the right direction here. I have a 1995 202xr with the standard MP 454/Dominator Jet. My issue is that when I decelerate, the idle will stick at 2000 rpms or higher (seems to happen more often in extremely hot weather). If I tap on the accelerator pedal a couple of times it will drop back down to 900-1000 rpms. Obviously I checked (and lubricated) the foot pedal, cable, and linkage...no issues there. Last weekend while at Parker I even went to Napa and added a return spring to no avail.
I've come to the conclusion that I should probably replace the original quadrajet with an Edelbrock 1409 or 1410.
Any suggestions/ideas?

Projects / Place Diverter Diode Kit

Any advice on how to make a diode kit for my Place Diverter? Switching from toggle to steering wheel switch. I know Place sells them, but I'd like to make my own...curious as to what's involved and why they ask $39 bucks for a couple of diodes, wires, and connectors.
