Engine Mechanical / Electrical / BBF 466 Carb Size
« on: June 05, 2017, 06:14:42 PM »
I have a 21 Spectra cruiser, just installed a newly rebuilt 466 BBF back in it.

When i bought the boat it had a 600 cfm Holley Marine Carb on it. I upgraded to a Quick Fuel Marine 750cfm but now am being told that is too small. Couple of people have told me that the BBF in a jet boat setup likes a lot of fuel and needs an 850cfm, that i will lean it out with a 750cfm.

The original motor leaned itself on my 4th trip and burned a piston and cracked the block with the 600cfm on it. Trying to avoid that with the new motor.

The boat also has 3/8 fuel line from the tanks, through the IMCO valve/filter setup and to the pump/carb. Is that big enough as well.

I am no expert by any means, so hoping to get some feedback from the group on here. Thanks

Anyone know a good place to go for honest reliable 4x4 service in Las Vegas?? Need transmission, transfer case and differential service. Hate going to dealer or quick lube rip off joints. Thanks in advance!

Boat Showcase / 1976 Spectra 20' BBF 466
« on: January 06, 2017, 03:15:47 PM »
New to site, Bought this 76 Spectra 20' in 2015 from a guy in Reno. Really nice, the previous owners put a lot of $$$ in this boat. It's like new. The guy in Reno added a better stereo, hydraulic place diverter, and motor.
When I got it back to Henderson I took it down to Willow Beach, ran awesome. Never thought to check the timing or jetting, the motor lasted 4 more trips 😒
Finally got an new 466 BBF built and put back in it. Runs Awesome, really excited for this year at Lake Mead and the river.
