Hulls / Eliminator Sprint questions?
« on: July 25, 2021, 12:40:19 PM »
Been doing some research on the Eliminator Sprints since I picked my '89 up a couple weeks ago and from the little info I found on the net it seems that there were 3 versions of the hull built. A medium layup hull with 2" stringers and standard pump placement, a heavier layup with 2" stringers and a balsa floor and a light layup with 1" stringers and set-back pump. I'm wondering if I'm missing some info cause the Sprint I picked up seems to be a fairly light layup (I'm going to scale it when I get a.chance to confirm) with 2" stringers and the Dominator pump is sef back enough that the cleanout is completely clear of the transom. Info seems pretty sparse on these hulls and I was wondering if anybody has ever run into any set up this way?

Thanks!
Dave

Boat Showcase / My first jet boat......
« on: July 17, 2021, 12:34:15 PM »
Hi from Michigan,

I haven't posted here in a few years since I  had started a build project on a mini tunnel hull jet boat that I had designed and was going to build before life and work got in the way. Still intent on building that bugger, but in the meantime I decided that I HAD to get my hands on a boat that I could enjoy with family and friends.
After a long time searching all over the interweb, I finally found a boat that ticked all the boxes for me........
A 1989 Eliminator Sprint with a Hardin Marine peanut port 330-horse 454 and Dominator pump that turned out to be completely original except for a lot of pump work by ARS Marine done by the previous owner. Original gelcoat, original interior, even the engine is bone stock as far as I can tell.....just what I was looking for!  ;D Even the tires on the trailer looked to be original I found out after the 342 mile trip home (super sketchy, but we made it......)
I grew up around these boats and from my first ride in a Sleekcraft with a 455 Olds engine when I was 11 years old,  I knew I had to own one at some point before I die......
Now I do and just wanted to share what I found.
Thanks for an awesome site!!

Mini Jets / Need some help on my mini jet mod-VP build
« on: July 10, 2017, 07:04:12 PM »
Hi everyone;

I'm Dave from DSR Performance in Michigan and a new member to the forum.

I am currently finishing up my design for a 12' 6" mini jet mod-VP (my own personal bit of insanity.....   :screwy: ;D) and I'd like to ask for some help with the proper design for the pump intake section to make sure the pump stays loaded at higher speeds.

I've done a ton of research and either I'm looking in the wrong spots, or there just isn't much info on this subject, but I don't want to start building until I'm confident that this little bugger will perform the way I want it to.

I have the hull lofted and modeled so I have all the dimensions and this is the last piece of the puzzle before the fun begins.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Dave
