Jet Pumps / Removing Jacuzzi WJ bowl bushing

I m trying o remove the brass nut in th back of the pump to check and replace the bushing. I absolutely cannot get it to budge. I don't want to tork it too much because it is soft rass. Anyone ever remove one, if so how the heck???  Thanks.
