Gelcoat / Paint / Fireberglass Repair / Need glass work
« on: July 22, 2020, 09:00:15 PM »
There’s about 4 foot and maybe 6 inches wide underneath my boat along the keel that’s bare fiberglass from the previous owner beaching it, and it’s letting water in the boat, is there anyone in Las Vegas who can repair this for me?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Spark plugs
« on: July 21, 2020, 09:55:27 PM »
Got a 460, with a MSD ignition coil and distributor, and a holly 750, it’s been a while since I’ve had a jet boat so I forgot my gap, asking around I was told anywhere from .03 to .05, .05 seems a little extreme, I read that Motorcraft was the original OEM plug for this motor and was replaced by autolite, called autolite and they said that I should use 26’s according to their charts, can anyone recommend where I should set my gap at? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Alternator issues
« on: July 01, 2020, 07:50:45 PM »
I recently purchased a jet boat and the existing alternator was bad so I changed it, the existing wiring was 10 gauge from the alternator to the battery with a 30 amp in-line fuse, once I change the alternator I had to add a diode to prevent run-on, once I did this it started to charge the battery but blew the 30 amp fuse, Right now I have it directly wired from the alternator to the battery and it’s charging with no run on, my question is do I need to put an in-line fuse before the battery and if so what size, or do I even need one?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Fuel tank issue
« on: June 23, 2020, 04:22:20 PM »
I’ve got a jet boat with two fuel tanks in the back, the fuel pump will suck fuel from one but not the other, when I disconnect the fuel line from the tee and blow into the one that works I can hear bubbling and it works fine, the other tank unfortunately when I blow into the line it creates pressure and blows gas back out at me, it does not do this with the cap open, I’ve tried switching caps and still have the same issue, so what I’m saying is my fuel pump will only suck fuel from one tank and not the other, and the other seems to be pressurizing when I blow into it, anybody ever experienced this phenomenon, Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

« on: June 12, 2020, 12:47:19 PM »
Hey all, I just found this site, pretty damn cool if you ask me,,, this is my first post of probably many, I’ve built several jet boats in the past and I’m on my latest project, I have a 19 foot sleekcraft Kuai, it’s got a 460 with the 750 Holly double pumper new MSD ignition and a fresh motor, I’m interested in replacing the Berkeley pump, I don’t wanna buy a new one but I’m looking for either a good preowned one or a freshly rebuilt one, I’m in Las Vegas and currently looking to buy as I want to get back out on the river, any information or help would be appreciated, on another note I’ve seen some pretty bad ass boat on this page, thanks for your help
