Boats For Sale / 19ft 1974 challenger BBF Turn key $3500

New interior, new white face guages, new dana steering wheel and helm and cable, Mallory Ignition with pertronix and mallory wires, Rebuilt Holley 750, Edelbrock Performer intake, carter P4070 fuel pump, basset twistys and scoop, Jacuzzi WJ with A/b impeller and diverter, Hull's in good condition, Paint is decent to good. Turn key with road runner tandem axle trailer. Trailer is in decent condition. Boat always gets a lot of compliments every trip. Not a freshly restored boat but looks nice and clean and is very reliable. Blaine (951) 210-2541

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / New fuel pump, line, and still cant get gas to the carb!!!!!

Well the boat ran fine, then the carb took a dump on me. Rebuilt that. Then went to fire it back up and couldn't get gas to the carb..... checked the pump, it worked but was a holley red and figured it wasn't a good setup with how i had the pump mounted and just wasn't pulling enough to get the gas to flow. Bought a Carter p4070 just now, and still have the same problem!!!

I can take the line out and put it directly into the filler cap and it pumps gas how it should. It just wont pump gas with both tanks hooked together or either one alone even.It shouldn't be a cracked tube, it ran fine and unless the trip home from the river was too bumpy and that cracked the tube. Other then that it was fine until the carb took a deuce on me. Boat is for sale, i priced it before it did this so i would really like to fix it so i can get what I'm asking for it. I heard that the carter fuel pump is a better choice for a boat being that unlike the holley it pulls more then it pushes. making that a better choice for a jet boat with 2 tanks feeding equally. Is that true? i had a holley red on it and i think it took a shit so i am going to get a new pump and just wanted to know if a carter would be a better choice. Thanks

Dove-A heads- In good working condition. Up to buyer to run them as is or get them cleaned up. Went to aluminum heads. Asking $500

Edelbrock torker II intake- Basically new, freshly powder coated silver. slightly milled to procomp heads. thicker gasket should help for stock heads. Asking $160

moroso valve covers- Blue anodized. some sun fading and has a small scratch on one. Asking $50

I have a 429 i believe, not a 460 but I dont know if it matters.im trying to set the timing and do not know what to set it at. id like the best performance on 91 octane. ITs basically stock with a mild cam, performer intake, mallory dual points converted with pertronics, and a holley 750dp. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I have the d3ve a2a heads on my boat i just bought.My dad has a BBF that had the dove c heads and he put some procomps on it and gave me the dove c heads. How much better are they than my D3ve a2a heads and can i just put them on without having to change any of the valve train or pushrods? Compression difference? will i notice a power difference? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks, Blaine

Jet Pumps / how much noise should i hear from hand spinning my wj?

I bought a 74 challenger for $1000 and was told the motor needed replaced. I pulled the u-joint off and started the motor and found out it was the pump howling.When i manually spun the pump i heard a ball bearing even drop! Bought a replacement 12wj with a b impeller for $150 when i bought it i spun it and it was definitely not as loud as the bad pump i pulled out. It still made a little noise though. I havent greased it yet either, gotter re tap a grease fitting in before i do that, threads are shot.Just curious on if you are supposed to hear the shaft turning at all or if a little rotating noise is normal. shaft is tight and everything else seemed fine. Any help would be appreciated before i go out on the water and get my heart broke! Thanks, Blaine.
