I am getting ready to put my motor in my 19' jet boat, the motor is a 396 with a decent cam ( on the higher scale of "mild" but not radical) the motor is balanced and according to the machine shop will make 500 hp no problem, I think realistically 400 -450 hp, I had a circle track BLP 800 holly that I had a carb shop rebuild with marine components, I ended up selling it because I really just wanted a brand new carb. I am now ready to pull the trigger and buy one, I'm not fixed on brand new, now after I see hollys are 500+ bucks, but I will spend it if I have to. my  question is what kind and what size would best suit my needs? 19' hardin caribbean w/ a berk "A" pump I am looking for a general all around perf and milage set up anybody else have something similar or experience with different carbs that can give me some good pros and cons? or just your opinion is appreciated too thanks, Mike

I really don't want to do this floor in my boat, I just put in a new bulkhead two days ago and I'm still itchin. I have all of the stuff to do the job, I just need to come up with some cash, I thought I'd throw this out there... I have lots of things I could trade for the work, snap on tools, snap on tool box, metal working tools, some parts, and partial cash if thats what was needed let me know if your qualified and if your interested. Not to be a dick but I'd like to see some pics of work that you have previously done, I know lots of guys that can do anything most of which I wouldn't let them change my spark plugs

I just had a 396 done, it has just under 10 to 1, "292" cam I never did get the spec card, 1.8 roller rockers, balanced, closed chamber oval heads, perf 2.0 intake, 750 double pumper, pretty much stock motor, I'm going to put it in a 19" jet boat, I was hoping to go at least 50? what do you guys think?
