I have found a small leak on my steering tube on my 12JC.  When in the water, a drop comes out where the cable goes in to the tube by the threads.  I recently replaced the cable, and I was wondering if there was something special I was supposed to do to seal this off?

So in my 19 Hallett bubble deck I seem to only be hitting 2900 rpm or so when on the water. When on the trailer it will rev above 3k (bumping throttle, don't hold this ever) on GPS the boat does 51. Carb was recently cleaned and everything as far as secondaries and throttle linkage. The dizzy is an MSD and has the fast advance springs timing totals around 33° if I remember. Fuel filters are new. Coworker said the fuel line could be bad and sucking shut. Anyone have any further ideas? What should the 460 run in stock form? Thanks!

So I am looking to sell some extra parts I have around the house here to try and fund getting new steering and forward/reverse cables so I don't have to wait until payday!  haha! Edelbrock 1410 marine carb 750 cfm.  This will come with the original box, sales receipts, and receipts for accel pump and rebuild kit.  Was rebuilt last summer by one of the techs at Lake Mead Marina.  It runs great, I swapped it for a holley so I could use my ski hook (bolts on to intake manifold). 

These are going for a minimum of $350 online that I have seen, so how about we call it $230  (Exact price of new control cables from CPPerformance)

So I've been down for some time now, turns out both of my heads were cracked between the valves, so I got a new set, and a badass holley for the setup while I was at it.  Now I am about to go get me a starter here soon and try and fire it for this season!

My question is for the wiring on the distributor/coil.  It is an MSD billet marine unit with a blaster SS coil. The only wire that runs to the coil (besides the distributor + wire) is a wire that comes from the alternator excite and goes to the ignition and then to the coil.  i have read that there is supposed to also be a wire going from my start solenoid directly to the coil +.  Is this correct?

The person I bought it from had some cheap ignition box installed and this wire was not present, hence my asking.

What kind of oil are you guys running in your 460s? I had no clue what was in my boat before, and i swapped it to some Mercury 25W-40, but I had to swap my heads and im going to have to change it again.  Im just wondering if anyone has a preference of what kind of oil to run.  My motor is mostly stock with a mild cam in it. Thanks

I prefer something already rebuilt or like new, ready to be dropped on and ran.  Stock or certain aftermarket brands are cool, just let me know what you've got.  You can call or text me, or email me on here.  Thanks!

First, I would like to say whats up guys, my name is Lucas and im new here!  I just picked up a 76 Hallett bubbledeck with a 460/berk combo, and im sure ill be seeing a lot more of you guys!


My question is that I just got my new MSD ready to run distributor, and it says that it does not require an external ignition box.  However, the instruction manual shows how to install it with and without the box.  My boat already has an external ignition box (Procomp electronics), would it be better to wire it straight to my coil, or through the ignition box.

Also, there is instructions for setting a rev limit, but I have no clue as to what the engine is supposed to be running as far as rpms?
