Take a piece of 2x4 on the ground... hold the part that bolts to the engine in your hand and gently hit the snail on the wood. Add a little acetone/trans fluid mixture to the studs and union.... a little heat goes a long way as well.
NEVER!! Jam anything in between the mating surfaces... the cooling jacket is super thin and needs a flat surface with no nicks to seal properly.

The No Wake Zone / Well... a new winter project!!

After much back and forth (mostly with the wife) about this tank and escaping her axe, this beast is following me home.
1979 spectra 24 with a merc 330 and a trs outdrive. Has 192 original hours on it. Gonna go thru it, give it the love it needs and hopefully breath a new lease on life for this oldie

« on: September 18, 2016, 12:51:08 PM »I stopped going to Pyramid and Castaic for all of the BS. I have been going to Buena Vista. No inspection, cheaper $14, there is a market, and fuel. Plenty of beach to do your own thing. Only about 45 more minutes of a drive.
Can't believe you like that lake better then the two local ones...
With your show piece boat and gel coat, hurts me to just "hear" it goes into that swamp.
Make me feel better, tell me you take the bayliner there..

It had an olds 455 in it and a WJ jacuzzi...Was sitting in some guys pasture in Fillmore for 10plus years.
The hull was very sound and the stringers were super solid, that's why I didn't dump the hull.

I bought that boat out of a yard where it sat for years in Fillmore.
I parted out that boat, and Rick the guy that sold that hull and trailer bought it from me the way he sold it.
I still have a lot of the parts that came out of that boat...

The red label ones are indoor, the blue label ones are outdoor. Iv used both, and the blue one seems a lot better and it actually says right on the tube it resists sunlight and weather.
