I have a twin queen suite booked. I won't be going anymore and didn't want to just cancel before seeing if any of my good ol' boys from SCJB wanted it. I can transfer it directly to your name.

Message me if you are interested. I'm pretty sure you get to maintain my discounted rate too.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Twin-Turbo system...what is it?
« on: April 29, 2014, 03:56:30 PM »

id bet that at 10psi you'll see every single weakpoint of that home built system.  and then you'll have to homebrew some parts to fix it.   4 psi all day.  its a pretty tidy little setup too compared to some ive seen.

Yea I don't need anymore than that. It scoots just fine. 4-6 PSI is perfect. I ran 16-18 in my '64 Bug all day long. But that's a very different motor.

Where do you live buddy? I got a hoist and other things we'd need. Provide a case of beer and we can chop it up one weekend. Just get both hulls side by side and ready to go.

Anything to get another good float in the water.

Here are some more pics. And the turbos T above the intake manifold and drop down right below the distributor. Not into the manifold.

Not only may I be able to get the information for you on this, I think I know the dude who built it.

Do the turbo oil dump lines route into the valve covers?

GT

I'm going to post more pics in the AM. I will see where the turbo outlet dumps out. I don't think it's into the valve covers though. Almost positive.

Runs freaking awesome. Had it in Parker last weekend. Flew out of the water. No need for an intercooler. The boost is set really low. I never got past 4 psi.

looks kinda home made to me with turbos mounted on GLM manifolds.

I'm starting to lean that way. I'm thinking it's a series of off the shelf parts pieced together into this system. Original owner was a race car driver, so wouldn't surprise me.

I'll take more pictures of that when I get home. My bad on that. It's waste gated as well as BOVed (see pic of box). The way it connects to the risers also seems very pre manufactured to me. I will post those later. All water jacketed exhaust as well as the turbos are water cooled. I'm very familiar with turbo systems, just can't seem to find what brand this is.

Runs like a bat out of hell though!

So is it a blow through system with a carburetor in that box or is it an intercooler?
I'm not sure what it is but if it was a gale banks system it would probably say it everywhere

Sent from my C6606 using SoCal Jet Boats mobile app

No stamping/markings anywhere that I can see on the box. But it's not custom made. The box is clearly manufactured in mass production. It's a blow through, inside the box is the carburetor, no
Intercooler on the system.

Anybody recognize this twin turbo setup?? It's a 400 Ci Chevy on a 78 boat. I know the motor was pulled and rebuilt and twin turboed in 1996-1997. I've looked around but cannot find anything about this system.

Anyone recognize it??

There is a high temp clear powder coating that is getting done nowadays. It's something you could look into. It's weird too though, almost feels grippy to the touch but is a high temp coating.

No I hear ya. It's not a bad boat. If you are good at doing your own interior, that's a great start. Floors go bad in boats, it happens. I'm not saying it's a bad project.
