The No Wake Zone / Re: anybody have a ford 460 engine for sale??
« on: December 20, 2012, 03:24:59 PM »
Whatever you do dont take it to a "car guy". They say there all the same but there not. We rebuild 3-4 a year from car guys that lasted a couple hours and KABOOM. Most of them were completely destroyed and had to start from scratch with new everything.

Boat Racing / Re: Any one racing Nostalgia jet??

It doesent look like were going to make it for NJ. We only have the K boat and the PS/NF boat for this race. It never seems to work out the way you want it to but thats the way it goes. But on a good note at least were racing this weekend. See you guys down there. If anybody needs parts or tools let me know. I wont be heading down till Friday morning.

No, Place Diverter does not take them as cores. The Bennett pump has a five year warranty on them and if you still have the reciept you can sent it in a get a new one for $45 through PD. Basically he sends them to Bennett and they have to inspect it first before anything happens. They have been making the round front style (where the two ports are on the front) for about 5 years now so if it isnt the newer style I wouldnt even try.

They dont make a repair kit for those pumps as far as i know. Thats a throw away part, you just have to buy a new one. Same goes for the little cylinder on the nozzle that moves it up and down. Now if there is a wire broken off it might be repairable but if the solenoid or motor in the pump is bad just throw it away and get a new one. Finding a used pump is going to be hard because the only time you take it out of the boat is when its no good, unless they were switching to a manual setup. IMO i wouldnt pay much for a used box, just bite the bullet and buy a new one or your going to have the same problem.

I would worry more about how much flotation would it take to keep the boat afloat.

Random Boat Parts For Sale / Re: WTB: Berkeley 12JF pump shaft
« on: October 22, 2012, 06:59:13 PM »
All the berkeley shafts are the same so any one would work. Also most of the american turbine shafts will work but you may have to put a washer in between the bearing and c clip.

The new boat should be at Parker. The bottom is done and just needs a little speed coat. I dont think ill have plates on it but im going to try. Were pushing big for the Enduro this year. But at Parker we will have 4-5 boats if everything goes well. If the Enduro boat stays together i would like to run nostalgia jet in. The line up will include.....

K-034 - Chris
CJ 51 - Randy (hopefully)
GN 113 (not Gluck but the old yellow Hallett running PS or NF) - Jerry
PS 714 - Steve
NJ 51 - Me

Its a lot of boats to keep running for the weekend so i might not drive. Its just to hard to drive and work on the boats, dont get me wrong i have a lot of help but for the most part i oversee whats going on the boats we bring.

I never said anything about wide open in the corners. I was just taking a stab a Liberty boats, thats all. IMO if your not a little out of control then your probably in the rear of the pack. HB is the is the best driver in CJ (IMO) hes patient, drives hard and has more races under his belt than all the CJ racers combined and he still gets out of control at times. The water is way to unpredictable and at 90 plus shit is coming at you fast. As far a spinning goes that is just the nature of the beast. I dont think that there is a single CJ racer that hasent spun at least once or twice and half the time spins are  caused by another driver. Unfortunely the spins and crashes are what people want to see. I never wish anyone to crash or get hurt but spectators want to see carnage and thats just the way it goes.

A Liberty can turn on a single pin course without spinning if you set-up for the turn.

If by "set up" you mean slow way down..... then yes.

Any boat will turn on a single pin without spinning...its just how fast that matters.

Jet Pumps / Re: Place diverter dissapointment
« on: February 27, 2012, 03:15:48 PM »
In the pictures you posted none of them show the nozzle all the way in the up position. Are you sure you have it adjusted right. In one pic it looks all the way down and about half way up in the other. In the full up position the arm with the cable going thru it should almost touch the arm behind it. As for your Place Diverter it is a older one with the bucket that hangs down but i wouldnt worry it will work just fine, if you cut it off the boat wont really back up for shit.

Nobody?!?! I have the boat that we just ran the Enduro in, If somebody wants to put their motor in it they can run it for the weekend. The boat is complete minus motor. The boat did mid 70s with 400 hp and would be perfect for the NJ class. If you want to use it just hit me up.

I just talked to Tim Place and he would like to bring his Rogers done to the Blue Water to run nostalgia jet. I will put the Bahner back together also, so we have two boats for sure.. I talked to Terry and he said that Jim Rich would run NJ also to try to fill the class. If any of you are wanting to run the 80 mph class please let Terry or I know. If we can get 4-5 boats out there it would be awesome.

The Parker Enduro 300 is sat the 22nd in front of the Blue Water Casino. Just down the river or lake from Havasu. There should be quite a few guys from the site down there.
