I would call comp cams and tell them what engine u got and have the power band in at 48 to 5000 rpms. Not 6 to 6500 rpms its a boat not a car.

« on: October 07, 2013, 10:20:12 PM »
My olds runs 60 psi cruzzing and 40 psi idleing. 10 seasons on motor with high volume mellings oil pump. if your gauges are working write that seems to low of oil press. i would check mains and rod bearing clearence on the bottom of the crank. you asked..........

on some cranks you can put the fly wheel on 3 different ways but you want to put it on the it was ballanced at the shop. if it is on wrong it should vibrate the shit out of the boat. check and make sure everything is tight, make sure u-joints arent worn out too, good luck.

May need to heat them up and a a big ass steel wedge. take your time try not to gull the sufaces. c.p. performance should have all the gaskets.

First due a compression test on all cylinders just to make sure engine is mechanicly sound. that will tell you if the valves and rings are in good shape. sounds like ignition problems, have fun.........
