I think I'm leaning more towards the 18' cp.  496 bbc, fresh pump with all the whistles and yo-yos.

Interested in why some people prefer to run the jet over the gear box...I'm in a spot to be able to buy my first real nice boat and want to be sure I'm making the right decision. I'm looking at a CP performance 18 turnkey. But I do know that the v-drive boats can get with it! Thoughts?

yant the temp at about 160-180* when your giving it the beans....at an idle you will see lower temps..i.e. 140*ish

open the gate valve at the pump for your water supply 2 full turns and you should be just fine...if you dont have a valve...install one..it will make life so much easier to keep the temp where you want it at different temp lakes. just one of those things you should have and need to fumble with...i doubt your gauge is messed up...its easy for your engine to see those temps and it doesnt take very long to get there when your on the gas.

the engine is brand new so having it be wore out and getting blow by isnt the issue..

i have since realized that what im after isnt this at all and what im wanting is a puke tank/breather box setup

sorry for the confusion and i appreciate everyones concern and helpful links and information on this

anyone have experience with running a pump to draw excess pressure from the valve train? i have alot going on in there and need to evacuate if possible...im not going to run it out the headers so an external pump to a puke tank will have to be the way to go for me...looking for anyone who can point me in the right direction as to where to go find the one i want to use.

a small block should run up a higher RPM than a big block.....you should also look into the pitch chart of the jacuzzi impellers..i know that a small block should be running a B in a Berk but im pretty sure that a Jacuzzi is backwards...im new though so look into it. you could have to much load on the engine which could be your problem

its all ready to hit the water...my friend is going to do the carpet for me in the next week or two on a weekend so that is all i really need to be fully finished..these things are never finished..i still have things ill add and buy here and there but as for now i wanna go play. got the sterio all lined out today with new speakers and sub..sounds great.

ill be on the water saterday and sunday at Apache Lake this weekend for sure

Auto headers don't have the the right angle of the dangle. They will work however will sit right on your transom (not on it but close enough for me) and could eventually burn the gel coat from what I've heard

You can get boat headers cheap enough if you look in great shape its honestly not worth the hastle unless your going to do upsweeps like stated above..

It'll come with a transom gasket but ide use some silly cone around the perimeter for a double seal..water will find a way in if you let it
