Man, I'd like to salvage those fuel caps!!

I have a Ford 460 block and the guy that owned it before me said he had it stroked to 540 CI.....so I had to calculate both. I originally had a Holley 750 with Vacuum secondaries on it and it would cut out at top end. The 750 was large enough for a 460 application however it wasn't enough for a 540 CI motor.

here's the numbers:

If a 460 CI: 5,000 (RPM) * 460 (CI) / 3456 = 655.5 CFM * 1.15 multiplier (For jet boats) = 756.33 CFM

If a 540 CI: 5,000 * 540 / 3456 = 781.25 * 1.15 = 898 CFM

I put a marine Holley 850 with mech secondaries on the motor and the darn thing woke up like a madman!! With that said, I tend to believe that my motor may indeed be a 540 CI.

I've already contacted a USCGA rep and he's coming out to the house this Friday to do a VSC on both of our boats.

Since we are rapidly approaching spring 2011 boating season, this is a great idea for us to make sure we comply with the laws......in turn this will keep the law off our backs by making sure our vessels comply with Federal and local laws.

Oh BTW, we do a lot of night cruising and will put these "Bling Bling" lights to good use....lighting up my roost with blue will be sic!

Thanks. That's certainly alot more than I knew about Crusader before. I was looking for the history, perhaps an "Owners group" or something lime that. Do you have an old owners manual or any original documentation from your old mini day?

Ya, the Crusader mini day is certainly a heavy boat. I just bought mine in September and haven't got to use it for a whole season yet.

Ya man....you're right about that. IF I didn't just buy my boat a few months ago, I woulda bought this thing without even testing it on the water.

its hard to say how much its worth without seeing it. i personally have never heard of or seen a "CVX". Post some pics if ya got em.

Hey guys, I found an absolute time capsule today. The boat is a 23' 1977 CVX-23 with a 460 BBF and Berkely jet. The boat is absolutely spotless and this guy bought it new in 1977. It's been under the same garage for 34 years and when I tell you this boat is clean, IT'S CLEAN!! Oh, and only about 300 hours on it.

What do y'all think it's worth? He wants $2,000 for it.

Only problem with a "Floating" trailer is that if you're trying to load when there's a crosswind or a chop. Personally I'd rather have one that sinks.

My 21' will run 56mph GPS.
