just got some basset o/t twisties but realized they are oval ports and my heads are rectangle ports.wondering what kind of gasket should be used or if I'm screwed and have to maybe switch out the flanges.

The rings have been recently replaced. Not to sure exactly how old the motor is. There's 2 breathers on it. One on each valve cover with the lines going to the carb. I'm going to replace those, thinking they might be clogged.

It does have a screw in dipstick. I had replaced the gasket because it was spraying out of there originally. What is a leak down test? I also thought of replacing the distributor. Maybe it isn't seating right on the manifold. I've asked a few mechanic friends what they think and I get the same "never heard of it doing that" response. Very confusing.

It was a new gasket. And the u clamp was tight. I could understand maybe if the oil was seeping out but its spraying out. I was thinking of replcing the pcv valves just to make sure they are working properly. But I wouldn't think them not working would build up that much pressure for the oil to force itself out somewhere. This problem is very confusing.

It's coming out of the base where the gasket is. The weird thing is, is that it only shoots out when I get on the throttle. The psi is around 65lbs.

I am a first time boat owner. Have an 74 dominator w/ a 396 w/ hooker headers. I'm having a problem with oil shooting out the distributor. But only when I get on the throttle.any ideas?
