The only complaint about the ramp is people who sit there with a empty trailer when there is still people waiting to launch. After your boat is off the trailer get out of the way for the rest of us trying to launch someone!

Take a count. How many are over here? How many are over there?.......Split it up, 4 and 4 or 3 and 5......I personally like to leave the trailer on the ramp, much quicker in and out, and I hate backing a trailer I can't see, (empty), with a shell or camper........and those "items are closer than they look" mirrors......are useless.........The Crackers are a good example of splitting the class.........See you at Parker, which BTW used to be an entire beach launch area till those retards put up the stupid railroad ties, and then the welded chains, and the door denting posts in the fuckin middle of  what is left of the launch areas.........I would really like to see, just to look at what a true idiot looks like, the guy that came up with that idea.....Ray

Scheduling.....

We all have to look hard at the class scheduling, as it is now, and how it COULD be. Ross, don't get me wrong here, but the current way sucks. Plan to run EVERY class once before ANY class runs a second time. I understand the little boats need smooth water, but then again, ALL classes need decent water. Now look from a spectator's point of view....A few "hot" classes mixed in with the small boats and jet skis might keep a spectator's attention. The CJ/NJ classes might put on a much better show on good water, not to mention the spellbinding sound of a flattie really wound up down the back straight....To keep interest, a program MUST jump around. Granted there are lulls in any spectator sport, end of an inning, 1/2 time etc. etc...But to delay most of the 100 plus boats until the afternoon is just wrong........People get bored, people don't come back. Hell, some of the racers don't want to run because they waited all day for their first heat........Run "A" program, top to bottom, then start at the top again......The flats, the jets, even the outboard guys MIGHT need some time for repairs/ adjustments between heats. A complete top to bottom program would space things out nicely. Oh, and by the way, I'll be glad to help you with the drivers meetings. (just ask) We can cut them to about 30 minutes MAX, and be racing by 8:30 AM..............Ray

Yes, button up, collared shirts are "required" by APBA for all crew members. It is seldom enforced, encouraged, but seldom enforced......This is the same APBA that can't seem to maintain a working website, encouraged enclosed trailers, then runs out of pit space......I think there is still an award at Burley for the best dressed crew..................Ray

Taking OUT the trash? How about burning the trash in the backyard incinerator?....Twice a week or as needed. Yes, this was in LA, Cal.........Garbage went in a pail that was picked up by the GARBAGE truck once a week........Anyone remember S&H Green stamps?............Then Blue Chip stamps?....Gas was 29.9 for good stuff............And the car A/C was a swamp cooler in the passenger window that you put water in.........How about "Curb Feelers"? All the cars had them, never see them anymore, but you never see whitewalls anymore either. (even the Mickey Mouse whitewalls you could put over the blackwalls to make them white).........Spinner hubcaps, long before even "chrome wheels" were available.........AND you can't leave out the mid west popular red wheels on just about anything that rolled....Under 30 you say, how about under 50..........Oh and VERY, VERY few homes had FM radios, and no cars had them........Black and white TV for the basic broadcast TV stations, Spade Coley , Lawerence Welk, Cliffy Stone, Dick "leather britches" Lane......The "Fabulias 52" movies.........on Saturday nights. I have never paid to get in to Pomona because of participation with various cars over the years. After I quit drag racing, (late 80s), I enjoy it on TV and seldom miss a Saturday qualifing, or Sunday's finals. A couple of years ago, a friend was given Winternationals weekend passes, so on Sunday we went. What a terrible disapointment. I know, ex racers make lousy spectators, but it truly sucked. First was the speakers they had all down the fence to 1/2 track. Not PA speakers, bullshit music speakers. The rap crap music played so loud I couldn't even hear the fuelers fire up at the stating line. The music continued through the burn outs and only stopped just before the green light. If that wasn't bad enough, the big screen had all the same commericals as you get at home!! Loud, through the same frecking speakers along the fence. You could not escape the terrible music, or the commericals. I finally went to the top end to get away from the crap. It was there I realized the nitro cars were not pounding through the lights due to the fuel percentage cutback, it just wasn't the same. I will never go back to Pomona, even FREE, unless whomever decided to have music at a drag race is pulled behind Force's funnycar all the way to the sand trap.....Sure, music has it's place. I seem to recall the Foxhunts of OCIR having music during the intermission, and enjoyed the dancing foxes, but Pomona is off my list of places I want to go. IMO, truly a shame to whore such a hallowed venue into some kind of sh!tty music nightclub atmosphere. You want music? Listen to 8000HP!!!!! I love the smell of NITRO in the morning.......But it won't be at Pomona.............MP

I remember that car.  The late Joe P was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Those early funnys were insane. I remember when it took a 6.15 or so to get in the show, 230-250 was fast......... Lil' John Lombardo, Raymond Beatle, Dale Pulde, Waco Billy Meyers, The Snake, Kenny Bernstein, Ed Mccullach, Roland Leong, Gary Ormsby, and countless others..Man do those guys bring back some fond memories......OCIR's 64 Funny car Shows.....The FOX hunt........Hmmmmmm......MP
