after cutting thru the floor, I'm relieved to see the joists weren't trashed. I will
have to replace some of the bottom
plate, but the studs are OK.

I'd like to find the puke that did this and use his head to break some concrete.

no pride in workmanship these days.....
I'm
just glad there was no MZoLD....

« on: November 03, 2013, 05:04:05 PM »
I'm not a contractor. That being said, I've swung a hammer...., set forms, put up siding, pushed dirt for a few years and set tile in dozens of houses when it was raining and I couldn't work outside. But I AM blessed with some common sense.....This mess is because some lazy Fook ( or stupid) or evil... or all
of the above didn't do the job right. this is my don't bathroom. it had beautiful Black
granite tile..... floors and tub surround.... well a tile was loose.... I went to reset it and WHAT? USB was under it..... with glue holding down .....(Elmer's I'm positive .... ) no water barrier.... hardie backer....nothing.

the water gets pretty cold here in Winter, but it will be a good place just to go for a 'camp out' with the kids ..just a quick getaway.. it's heavily forested and there's also good public  hunting land within a couple miles..... I'm going to pull the trailer home first, then clean and repair etc everything in  the next few months... a good winter project.

interior pics.

this will be a great way to save some bucks and lots of time. (even though it's just an hour from my house to the lake,) I can stay later at the lake and literally pull the boat and drive 1/2 mile to the trailer.

I am really stoked about this .....and it's not a huge investment since the land we are negotiating on is going to be around 5 grand.
taxes are like 200.00 a year.

after inspecting the trailer, it's a 30' Flagstaff.
it's a little rough, and there are a few items that need to be addressed, but after checking parts/ pricing / it can be fixed for around 500-700 plus my labor.....roof is good /windows are solid/ running gear good etc. the lights all work as well as the plumbing, A/C/ heat/ microwave/gas stove / built in stereo/ twin propane tanks.

He came down to 2200.00 for the trailer, and we are working on the land price. in the meantime he will let me rent the 1/2 acre as long as is like for $50.00 bucks a month
for50.00 a month!!!

it's an old forest dept Trk .... 4 spd floor model with the the granny low. .....we are pulling the old rear end  gears and have a locker' with taller gears than what's in it now to help the mileage,
than coupled with a carb update/rebuild I'm hoping for much lower rpm/ higher mpg.... if I can't get it with that, a tranny swap will
be next....

I have a edelbrock 750 with electric choke I need to get rid of.

RoB~SoCalJetBoats~

I appreciate the offer, but a 750 is too much for for the 305.....

after looking at  pricing on the edlebrock my son has decided the re- build  option on the QJ is looking better and better ( though not as shiny and pretty)
he's gonna pull it this weekend and take it to a local engine wizard and let him decide if it's rebuildable.... if not, we'll be looking for another QJ to replace it.

thanks guys!!!!

not in California so no smog issues .....  it's not a real hot rod, headers/flow master exhaust....the engine is stock.

I'll
check the on the  Edelbrock.....it's got the QJ on it now, but I have zero knowledge base for that particular carb.....

The No Wake Zone / times up
« on: October 26, 2013, 02:43:49 PM »
the clock has been started for summer 2014.

it was 33 degrees last night so, it's "winterization station" for the Bahner.

the motor / jet have run like a champ all summer so other than clean up and 'tune up' -no real big plans..... mostly cosmetic items to address in the interior. I am going to add a couple grab handles for the GF and one on each side to assist to climb onto the swim step.
I am going to re glass both steps tho, and I'm going to see if I can lay some neoprene on the tops of the steps to help my old knees

I often use my boat to go fishing and you can see the terror in the other fishermens eyes when they see me come screaming to the spot at 4k across a glass lake at 630 in the morning. And when I drop anchor they loose it. Hey I don't have a trolling motor and there lucky I don't leave it running to troll around. lol.
lol.  that's great!!!
I'm gonna have to give that a shot!!!
