Jet Pumps / Re: New impeller for Berkeley 12JE
« on: August 07, 2008, 06:56:14 PM »
if its never been apart in 31 years i would say rebuild time you dont have to pull the pump to put the diverter on i dont have a photo but check placediverteron google youl easily find one jim brock has new or used give him a call 818-890-1867 hell help with any or all of the above hes awesome

He said it was rebuilt 5 years ago, but has the original impeller.

IMO, I would get your impeller blueprinted. I got mine done at MPD and the performance was huge. Unless your impeller is completely focked up, they can usually bp it and make it better than new.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Elsinore death
« on: August 07, 2008, 06:48:38 PM »
i heard theres about 1 death a year in havasu from that parasite....its common in warm water lakes durring the hotter months.

when ralph and i went to elsinore a couple weekends ago, it was so warm that it wasnt even refreshing when you got in the water

You got in that water? Gross. When launching there, I climb on the boat through the trailer so my feet don't have to touch that nasty water. A few years ago I remember being on the beach and seeing a dead fish washed up on the shore. The only good thing about "Smell-some-more" is the no speed limit center section. I know they said its cleaned up, but IMO its still dirtier than a Tijuana Crack whore.

Jet Pumps / Re: Place diverter on a 24 footer.
« on: August 01, 2008, 07:14:20 PM »
I know nothing about them other than they change the exit angle.  What brands are available and what drives?  Elec?  Hyd?  manual?   I know nothing of what's available.

What do you guys recommend?   I'll probably do the impeller change and maybe a place diverter over the winter if it's a big job.  I don't want it down now.

Anyone else with a 24 footer have one?  How does it effect your boat?

If it was me, I would get a Place Diverter with manual control from Tom at JBP.

whats the cp regatta?

California Performance boats, basically lots of 100+ MPH boats. CP  are gullwing boats similar to the TX-19.

So where is the location? Martinez or Big River or ???

If I get my motor done in time, I will be at Big River that weekend. There will be lots of fast boats there that weekend. They are having the 2nd annual unofficial CP Regatta that weekend. You don't need a CP to go either.

Mouzer just got it back, but is now selling it. No registration, its out of the DMV's system and will have to be registered as homemade.

Any one know of any good machine/ engine rebuilding shops in or around Orange County. I need a short block rebuild for my BBC 454. I am looking for pretty much a stock rebuild. Limited is an understatement for my budget. I just wanna get the boat done so I can finish off the season. What should I expect to pay? I got a quote of $2000 today, seemed a little steep. My buddy said to call National Crankshaft, anyone know if they are still around? Can't find their number anywhere. :banghead:

Jet Pumps / Re: Line length
« on: July 17, 2008, 03:41:04 PM »
I asked the same thing on PB. It doesn't really make a difference. Mine are unequal lengths. One side starts steaming just slightly before the other side, but pretty much the same amount of water goes through each side.

That's a pretty good price. I just bought a 4781 850 DP on ebay last week for $120 shipped and from the pictures the one I'm getting looks pretty beat. Still hasn't gotten here yet. :banghead:

Always wanted one of these............. :'( The only thing that bothers me is it is not a 454, should be a 427, how could he not know?

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/748355227.html

It says the bore is 4.25 and the stroke is 4.00. That equals 454 to me. Unless the information he provided is incorrect.
