Finding a used one at a great price is like striking gold. I would post this up in the parts forum here and in a few other forums on the net. you mite get lucky. I know a new one runs about 1800$ now daysyeah that's my understanding. I will try that. Thank you for your response. Hey who knows I may get lucky lol (that will be the day)
5800 rpm will sprinkle that Ford all over the bilge....you may feel you can not over carb a jet but you can over carb a "motor" which is far to over common..
There is little to no reason to ever turn a pump faster than 5,200.
That being said, more information is needed about the current set up.
Stay away from fancy ignition systems for now, you could pill of the HEI and never see a single rpm gain.
Whoever said you cab easily over carb. a jet, just don't know jets.
Let me give you a scenario of what it's going on in a jet, take a heavy car and drive wot up the steepest hill you can find. That is how a jet absorbs hp.

Welcome to the site def. jealous of that blower motor that's sittin next to your float in the shop but I do wanna hear it tho!!!! Hope to see ya on the wateryou and me both bud. Yes sir I want one in a couple of years. My 455 olds running just fine now for me and the family. Trying to keep it olds school till my kids are bigger then I will go bigger motor.i think it's safe to say bigger is always better! Ha

Cool can't wait to see it run. We have a couple of blower motor floats on here. Glad u joined. It's always nice to have boat mechanics on the site.im getting pretty anxious myself. Ready to put more power. Had the same naturally aspirated set up for 6 years now. Debated for a while to build big inch hi comp motor or blower motor. Hope I made the right choice. The way I see it is pulleys are like nitrous jets. 👍

Welcome to the family. Did u get that blower motor in yet. Seen some your work on Instagram nice looking float hope u will be out for the October run in laughlin.no unfortunately I still have quite a bit of work to do before the motor will be set in. And fortunately I've been so busy with customers boats I haven't had any time to work on my own. Which sucks but not complaining. I will work hard to get it out and running for the event. If not ill still try and make it anyway
