Hahaha very true!! Just frustrating! Boat had 60psi of oil pressure sounded great when we bought it! Then bam dead hole and whole new box of worms

Well sold the hallett because of the unknown olds in it! Bought a mini day (the 77 eliminator on here that was for sale) and went to time it today and it had a dead hole! Dad took the valve covers off to find rockers were tight but some weren't moving! Tore it down farther to find bad lifters and rounded camshaft! (7 lobes) time to pull it and check the bearings! Any suggestions on a good Lopey cam for a 454?

Do edelbrock carbs and Holley carbs have different mounting hardware where the cable mounts to the carb?

For instance, when switching from a Holley carb to edelbrock or vise versa do you need different hardware to mount the cable to the carb?

Haha it still has fiberglass tanks they are holding full tanks of fuel right now with no leaks... I have the old interior that I'll throw in with it so you have the templates.

Looks great bud! Sucks you had to replace the whole other stringer but well worth it to know it's solid! As I said before if I'm not at work I'm willing to help would be a learning experience for me as well

Same here but the stud on the outside runs through an insulator to the inside, the insulator that the stud runs through was wore out and allowed it to ground out. Fixed that and it worked great

Had the same problem in my boat! Check the distributor where the condenser and distributor mount there's an insulator that goes bad and they ground out! Replace that and see what happens

74 Hallett bubble deck that just needs interior! 455 olds motor with good oil pressure freshly rebuilt carb with new intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets! Through transom exhaust with Hardin marine logs and snails. Berkeley 12jc pump. Full stringer boat with stringers in good shape and a solid floor! Trailer in great shape with brand new wiring and led brake lights!
