Does anyone have a 5/8-18 bolt for a BBF harmonic balancer they can part with? I can't find one anywhere and don't want to wait to order one.

Looks like the wear ring is still there. Take a torch to melt the insulator and remove the old wear ring and check for damage. Look at the vanes and the shaft also.

Those should be torqued to 40ft/lbs and I highly recommend thread locker.

Red Loctite #262 is perfect.

What size bolt? Are you talking the main cap bolt? What engine?

Does anyone know what the torque specs are for the stand offs that thread onto the main cap bolts for the windage tray. Or do I just tighten them with red lock tite?

Same height, just wider.

The current flame arrestor fits into a small scoop built into the engine cover. I think the bigger diameter will be an issue.
I'll just try some things when I get everything put back together.
I'll probably just remove choke all together since it seems to be the cool thing to do.

Holley makes a couple of different flame arrestors. Just going by the picture you posted, it seems to be a 6" wide one. From what I read, the 6" are only rated  for 600 CFMS. Holley makes a 8" wide arrestor rated for 800 CFMS. With the 8" wide arrestor you will be closer to your CFMS of the carburetor and it will give you more room for the choke linkage.
Hope this helps.

I see. The problem is, I don't think anything bigger than this will fit under my hatch.

I just took the choke off my brand new 750. Easy money.

How did you get the butterfly off? Did you have to drill the end of the shaft?

I was thinking about removing it but if I did then my OCD will kick in and I will pull the wire bundle apart to remove the wires for it and I'm too lazy.
This is the arrestor.

Just got my quick fuel marine 850 in the mail. Beautiful carburetor but a slight problem.
The linkage for the choke is hanging up on the side of the spark arrester. (Pictured)Has anyone else had this problem?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Water/gas/foam in oil
« on: April 24, 2017, 08:15:31 PM »
It could be 5 depending on what it came from. I think the car pans were 5 and the trucks were 7.
My ford 460 had a 5 quart on it which I always thought was small for a jet boat.

Jet Pumps / low speed control w/ jetovator
« on: April 19, 2017, 04:54:00 PM »
I've never seen a jet boat that could hold a straight line at idle. If the idle is set high it makes it a little easier.
Even the rudders don't really make a difference which is why nobody uses them.
Steer with the gas pedal.
