Got the same tongue on mine.  As far as I can tell, it feels like the brakes are working fine, but have the same problem when I back it into position (doesn't want to release until I block the wheels and pull forward).  I do know these systems are called "surge brakes" and are designed to start working when the trailer pushes forward on the tongue like we know it is.  I'm guessing maybe the drum brakes could just use to be adjusted and fluid levels topped off.  Just my .02

That was a VERY good read.  Very interesting.

Honestly though...  I think I'd rather drive the Lingenfelter Vette for the simple fact that I'd be able to comprehend it better.  Pretty amazing stuff.

This is a 1999 GMC Sierra SLE, Stepside bed with the Z71 suspension package. It has some body damage but can be easily repaired. I have all the parts priced out and comes to a total of around $800. The truck has 156,000 miles and still runs very well. Just passed smog last week. Registration good through April of 2010.

Power steering, A/C, power doors and windows, cruise control, tow package, 5.3L V8, tinted sliding rear window, flowmaster exhaust, K&N air filter, good tread left on 285/75 R16 BFG mud terrains, rubber bed mat. New water pump and newer Auburn Posi-Traction differential (the only two things that have ever gone bad on this truck were the water pump and rear dif).

Has a clean title (no accidents on record). Kelley Blue Book LOW TRADE-IN VALUE IN THIS CONDITION (fair) is $5,995. With body repairs done you can have a "good condition" vehicle for much less than that. Was originally owned by my father, I am the second owner. Other than cosmetic damage it has always been regularly serviced and well maintained.

$4000.  No sucker punching low-ballers please!!  No trades.  Only reasonable offers considered.

This show got better and better as the season progressed.  I was actually routing for the Avalanche guys myself but only because they got thrown into so many challenges and it was fun seeing them drive the shyt out of that truck (much like I do my trucks).

Would have been fun to see Team Dart get farther in the competition!

I thought it was lame that the final episode only had that one very short challenge...  That took all of 12 seconds to complete.  Thought it should have had more of an obstacle course, challenging the team to push their cars a little harder, instead of finding destinations like they all had to do through the entire show.

All in all though, I was happy with the result.  Team Shelby was cool and collected the whole time and did well in the challenges. Great show!

So I pretty much grasped the concept of the anchor buoy before these answers, thanks for confirming.  It is pretty much obsolete if you're going to be pulling up your anchor when leaving the spot, right?

As for the spring line...  If I were to use simply a rope off the bow and a spring line from the transom to shore... Would this have the same affect as far as absorbing waves coming in and the boat raising/lowering?  Or would the anchor still lift and move?

A couple of questions for you guys:

What is the significance of using an anchor buoy?

Also, when using a spring line for anchoring and tying the back of your boat to the shore...  Is it best to use the spring line from the back of the boat to the shore?  I've also seen them used on the anchor line instead.

Suggestions appreciated.

That is a great story!  I saw what was coming as soon as I heard the guy yell he needs his keys.  I still don't understand though why they wouldn't have gone in after them.  Would have much better luck feeling with your hands rather than a treble hook.

I'm with OC2Vegas and make a day of it, with a cooler of beer either on the dock or bring the boat and do some puttin' of your own for the afternoon.  Did they catch any fish at least?  Or did they catch no fish and no keys.  That would be one hell of a skunk!
