Projects / 1974 Eliminator
« on: August 15, 2010, 12:59:34 PM »
Well, I sold the Howard and decided I still wanted a V-Drive around for the smoother days on the lake. I was trying to buy this Eliminator a few months ago and the guy still had it when I finally got the cash together. Here she is. This season shes gettin the stock 454 out of the jet boat just to finish the season then when winter time comes around Im building a mild 468 to putt around with. Its alot better start then the Howard was and I think Ill be happier with the end result. This is also the first boat Iv got with a decent trailer! Im pretty happy about that.

I need a decent digital camera but Im not the smartest person when it comes to the damn things.. How many pictures can one of those disks hold? Can you just pop the disk into any computer to upload em or do you have to upload the software first? Looks like it'd be perfect for my lake camera.

I love the Northfork loggers jamboree.. Id imagine its about the same. Everything from axe throwing to hot saws. Its alot of fun and a great place to drink cold beer. As far as bars in Mariposa?! Theres 3. Ones a scary little hole in the wall, ones full of old timers talkin about the good ol days and then theres the Miners Inn bar.. Its tiny but sometimes a good time. Might get weird looks from the locals. Last time I went there was 2 Easters ago, ended up in jail. I keep my distance now. I guess you can say that Im the local bar pro. No wonder I have no money for boats and cant keep an ol lady..  :-\  Ill be riding the Harley up to Shaver this weekend since my Reno plans just went down the drain.

Well you gotta remember for the most part its pretty quiet up there and most of the visitors are spending time AWAY from the bar.. That leaves the locals. Nothing too scary until you hit the "Short Horn" after about midnight. Its a single wide mobile home turned into a bar right behind the gas station in town. Right near the pizza place. Out of like 15 trips there, atleast 10 ended up back at the trailer saying "What the hell just happened". These are a sneaky sort of people, always leave the banjos at home so you cant hear em comin.

Hey, This is a boat that I really havnt heard anything about.. I know the name Eliminator but Iv never seen a true flatty from them. Does anyone know anything about the layup and performance of these hulls? I found one that Im really interested but want to double check before buying another low performing hull. Heres a few pictures.. Sorry about the little pics, there from an email.

Truck looks good! I had 16.5s on my Chevy and everyone makes 35s. Im not 100% sure on 37s but Im sure its the same. I had BFGs and I know Super Swamper makes tires. I was stupid and went with 22s or else Id be running military 41s on 20s.

Wow.. That boat is deff. different and WAY badass!   And I thought tri hulls were for fishing  :screwy: Do you have any pictures of the front? I think the windows look fine on there, maybe just tinted DARK black to bring out the dark paint colors. Kinda curious.. if you dont mind.. What did redoing your interior like that run you? With the gauge bezels and everything?

This just adds to my constant worry about leaving my truck and trailer at the ramp. I came up to load up the party barge and found out that someone hit and ran my trailer. Tore off a bearing buddy, clearance light, and I had to bent the fender back out to clear the tire. Of course no note or anything. Some shady people camp by the ramp up here.. Iv been waiting to find my truck on blocks or no trailer at all.. Hate hearing this kinda stuff!

Yah, I ran atleast 30 gallons from my boats from last season or outta the flatty that was 2 years old in our cars. Id just add 5 gallons per fillup at a time. Thats in my efi yota, carbed yota, and my moms escalade. Never a problem with any of em!
