Thanks Josh- it does say mar-bud on the serial tag.  It all looks pretty original as of now- no snoot or diverter- yet- I don't really know the history of the pump so I am trying to prepare for the worst- Can the older pumps be update to accept the stainless shaft, HP Bearings, and newer style impellers or is it better to go with the american turbine impellers- sorry for all the questions- thanks for all the answers

curious to know what the +/-'s of quarter stringer boats (ie 19 foot challenger) are- I know full stringer = stronger, and better for big hp- but for river boat- what HP limits should be considered etc.  Any thoughts or theorys on stringer length and Challengers???

yeah- After I sold the last barge, I told myself that I was going to wait until the spring to pick something up.  The I was toying with the idea of a daytona, but have always had a soft spot for the cals.  So I stumbled across a cp gullwing, and am thinking about it, I dig the fact of having a function 4 person boat that still gets after it, and the rarity thing is kind of cool as well. Anyway, was not sure about handling characteristics, week spots thing to look for, stay away from etc etc- thanks for the input, any info is greatly appreciated.

What are some thoughts on this hull- 454 or 468, berk pump, blah, blah,blah- What are the characteristics, etc, I am working on getting some pics, but just looking for some general info-

Sorry to sound like a total novice, but will the surge of a carburated blown motor hurt the motor??  Between the surge and the whine of the belt- those are the 3 biggest reasons for me to buy a blower- and I guess the HP is cool too

Marc I am sorry to hear your boat went for a dive- as for the t valve, It has stuck on me a couple times and cause one header to go try.  I could hear it imeadiatley and if I tapped it it would start flowing again.  Squirt some wd-40 and your good- dont know much about the water pressure- Are you running baffles???
