Crap TJ, I'm sorry to see this thread but knowing your craftsmanship, I'm betting we all think it's better now than it was even before your whoops.

Kinda reminds me of a bazillion years ago when I was a teenager, had a bare small block setting on the work table at home and set a head on the locating dowels without putting any bolts in, turned my head to grab something and that sumbitch popped off the pins and fell from the 4' landing right on my big toe........Note to the gang here, cast iron heads and toes don't mix.  I smashed the shit out of it and didnt even crack the head..... :banghead:

Sincerely........Fat-Toe Johnny
Been there done that, small block head to right big toe. Big toe lost. Worst thing is that it ended up getting nail fungus and lost the whole nail. Finally had to have it permanantly removed. Toe looks all effed up now lol.

I'm getting one of these valves. They look better quality and I've used one before with great results, not to mention much less expensive.

Also check the dizzy gear pin hasn't broken. Happened to me once, baffled me for an hour till I touched the rotor and it spun freely. The distributor was an old Mallory Unilite. On a side note, when I blew my engine last summer it literally bent the distrutor shaft when the motor locked up. Anyway hope you figure it out. I ended up getting a ProComp dizzy from a place called Gr8 Hot Rods in L.A. for like $120. It's a MSD copycat from Australia and uses MSD replacement parts and cap/rotor. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Accessories_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__FORD-BIG-BLOCK-PRO-BILLET-DISTRIBUTOR-351C-460-PT-8024_W0QQitemZ270244321957QQddnZPartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQadnZCarQ20Q26Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQddiZ2811QQadiZ2865QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item270244321957&

This is the one I got.

« on: June 13, 2008, 02:51:13 PM »
Zoops has a product that works great once your part is polished. For regular clean up polishing I swear by Blue Magic metal polish. Fine enough to polish gold!!! Another old trick tooth powder (used in place of tooth paste). I've seen inmates turn brushed stainless sink/toilet into chrome like finish with the stuff!!!

Since we can't go to Parker (because of my back), Sue is driving me to Hemet tomorrow to visit my dad for Father's Day. I'm getting better, so I might not have to go under the knife (still have numbness in left foot though). Maybe I'll get lucky and just need a corisone shot! Then I'll be ready for the lower river get together in August!!! Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend. May you all get wet in some positive way!!!

Normaly I can back my trailer up to the water. So on the bow, I have 10' rope with a clasp sewn into it, that I latch up to. Then off the stern I use a basic anchor with chain and bungee rope. :D

One  trip I got lazy, and didn't rope it up, just beached the Tahiti. Next morning when I woke up my Tahiti was missing! Luckly we were in a cove, and it had floated down about 50 feet from me. Learned my lesson that night.
One time growing up, a buddy beached his boat overnight and the river went down. Took a bunch of guys to drag his boat back to water!!! I try to anchor nose out towards the center of river and tie the transom to shore. Nearly got swamped once, so now I do it this way. I definitely need to call Tom and order one of those bungees.

I'm out guys, I'm soooo pissed, I really wanted to go, but my back isn't getting better. Got an appointment to see the Orthopedic Surgeon next tuesday. I might even have to go as far as to sell my boat if things don't get better soon.  :banghead:

Not sure if we're going to make it afterall. It all depends on how it goes with the doctors this week with my back issues.  :banghead: I want to go so bad it's not funny!!! I'm hoping I can just get a cortisone shot and be good to go.

Bad news, ended up in ER Friday night with spasms running down my left leg and numbness. They gave me a toridal shot and a bunch of percocets. I've been pounding percocets, zanaflex (muscle relaxers), lodine (anti inflamatory), and prednisone (steriods). Still having problems so getting a referal to a ortho specialist on monday (hopefully they can get me in) and get a mri. Hopefully I can just get a cortizone shot be good for a while. I'm scared it might be surgery time. That'll suck because I don't have any leave built up at work right now!. I'm also really hoping to get fixed up in time for the Parker trip. We'll see what happens.

Just got off the phone with the BWRC Marine RV park and they have a free public launch ramp. So I think I'll launch from there. Do cell phones work out there? That way I can call someone if I get lost  :-[

As long as the carb issues are fixed, Sue and I will be there for Saturday. I hope to launch from the free ramp that I was told about (just past Emerald Cove). I have no idea where to go from there to meet up with everyone. I'm thinking we should be there between 9am and 10am.

oh yeah, shirt size 3x for Sue and Me.

I hurt my back (on the job) in 02 and since then I've been having occasional flare ups with it. Today is one of those days. Sunday I knocked it out of alignment hooking the boat up to my truck. Just lifted it wrong. Thats what happens when you're in a hurry. Anyway I've been working through it, wearing back support and takin Ibuprofen. This morning, I realized I wasn't going to make it when I couldn't wash my feet. So I called in and went back to bed. Woke up later to take a leak and couldn't get out of bed. Had to have my gf help me roll over while I was cryin like girl in pain. Took one of my muscle relaxers and now I'm in zombie mode. Slept till 11:30. I'll be hittin the vicodin too after I pick up my prescrip. Gotta have someone drive me to the chiro this afternoon and get my back tuned up. I'm just worried that by the time I retire from the state in 8 years I won't be able to enjoy it. I guess I can qualify for medical marijauna then. I got that to look forward to   ;D I used to take Vioxx and mad did that stuff work!!! But too many people abused and died so they had to pull it off the market. Supposedly they are working on a replacement, but that'll be years from now. Another side effect of the muscle relaxers they make me babble on as I've done here  ::) :-\
