I'm probably gonna pull a few quarts out of it and add some 30wt to thin it a bit. 45psi at idle just seems high to me

So not thinking like an idiot I didn't drop the pan to check what it will hold when the motor was out and I don't trust a dipstick that doesn't fit right so here's my dilemma, I only pulled 4 quarts out of the pan, no way that's enough. Even an auto pan takes 5 1/2-6. So I put 5 1/2 in it for the time being. Well I filled it up with vr1-50 and at idle about 1000rpm I'm around 45psi and ill hit 65psi  by 2000 and it will hold all the way to 5000, and this is with the motor at temp of 160-170. What do you olds experts say?

Count the turns from fully closed to open and then close it half way, go off 1/4 turn increments till you dial it in, I set mine up to run about 100-130 when running around and when I'm idling it gets up to 160-180

Yah finally, almost ruined the whole thing though, the rope on the pump snapped half way through the rotation, luckily I had a safety chain and it caught it. Was a pucker moment for sure

Whats Cookin? / Re: Ribs
« on: May 24, 2013, 11:41:29 PM »
Man your guys recipes sound great and all but not my thing.

Heres how i do it,

First I grab a beer, this is very very important. Pound it and possibly a few others and wait for alcohol to take affect. Generally about a half hour.

Second, this is also very very important. I yell........." Woman I want some ribs" which I generally followed by an "ok babe"

Third, which is the most important step of all, I lay out in bed and fall asleep, and when I wake up poof they are ready.

Never let off the throttle

Edit:

It has to do with the cam, if your cam specs are pretty close to stock you shouldn't have a problem but the man to ask would be glenn or "gt jets" here on the board

Edit: and he beat me before I posted my first edit
