WarZone / Re: Jet boat models
« on: August 03, 2014, 11:09:24 PM »

So I've been on the on-line today looking for a jet boat model that I can make with my boy but I can't find anything that even resembles a jet boat let alone my 78 southwind. Has anyone ever seen something like this or do you know who would make one thanks

If your not running a t-stat you can make one out of 1/4 inch aluminum.

Well I guess I'm getting old.  I've been a few times and I don't plan on attending.  It has become just hanging out on a sand bar with 2000 of your new best friends trying to keep your boat from either getting swamped or beat to shit while hopping your anchor holds.  You'll see a couple fast boats make a pass or 2, but most of the racing is done either on Friday, or after everybody heads back to the launch ramp and nobodies there to watch.  You won't have any trouble if you take kids, all the people are very cool.  You will see  some really nice hardware there if you walk around.  It's become more of a big get together to drink beer and shoot the breeze than fast boats making passes.   The water turns to shit real fast and just won't allow for safe high speed passes, at least for the sober people.  If this sounds like a good time, you'll have a blast. Enjoy!
Iam right there with you buddy. Last year it took me 20 min to figure out how to get out of the cluster fuck of boats just to make a pass in shit water. It is a blast though. Friday is the day to be there. You'll see a lot of racing. Saturday is more of a shoot the shit day and pay 25 bucks for a t shirt.

Looking for a Relief valve to let air out of pump when putting boat in water with droop snoop.
Keep getting air lock .
Please let me know if you might have one etc.
If your in socal hit up b1 racing. He has them

So it just a high side bleed on the pump to get the air out???

What is the symptom though Im curious.  How do you know its happening?
With a full droop you'll get an air pocket in there and the boat won't move for 20 seconds or so. The prime a jet lets that air get out.

What are some opinions between the 2. I'm building a 20.5 70s cruiser. 454 .30 over w mild pop ups which are supposed to  be 10.5:1 comp, 049 heads, marine cam, 750 vac sec, Ebrock Air gap, logs, jacuzzi WJ. I have an MSD dizzy and box thats in good shape. But I'm leaning towards installing an HEI only because if I have an issue I can go go Vatozone and pick up a module, cap, or rotor. In this application would I be hurting performance?  Would I even notice? Which is more reliable? Having a hard time deciding. Thanks.

i think its a preference thing to a point. I hate the look of a big bulky HEI, looks retarded to me haha. If you have the MSD i would just use it. Autozone or o'rileys have msd parts 3/4 of the time.

My boat is a 1975 I have a 12 je with an A impeller Berkeley pump I have grease the bearing and the u joint inside the hall of the boat what I don't know is do I need to lubricate or grease inside the bowl anywhere please help me with a little input thanks guys

Sent from my SCH-I535 using SoCal Jet Boats mobile app
there should be two plugs on top of the pump bowl,  If there is a zert on the bowl grease it up. if its oil filled, take the plugs out and fill it up with 50weight or higher oil.

Have you hit it with the nitrous yet? That 125 shot should get you to your peek RPMs +50 to 100 more. Tighten up the pump and see what happens. I would start with a B. JMO
