Daycruiser. That spells im getting old....  What next , You gonna trade in the ole V-drive for a paddle boat ;D

Judging by how high it sits on the trailer I would guess that daycruiser is a V-drive  :-\.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Rewiring the boat..
« on: November 04, 2008, 10:06:11 PM »
OK, just to clear this up.

Parallel is (daisy chain),  Positive to positive to positive, and neg to neg to neg  = the right way.

Series wound be + of first gauge is power - of first gauge is jumped to + of second gauge, - of second gauge is jumped to + of third gauge, - of third gauge is connected to ground = wrong

And GT is right ,  no need to run individual wires for each gauge.  Just jump from gauge to gauge with good wire and connectors.

Why? Been doing the series thing for twenty years, not enough load for a voltage drop.. Just curious.

GT

 What ??

How would a gauge give an acurate reading if its wired in series ?   Electric gauges read resistance to ground from the sending unit, right ?  So, if the gauges power is in series it would be reading the resistance of the sending unit and the resistance of the other gauges.  Plus if one gauge goes bad wount all the gauges stop working (like those damn Christmas lights).

 Looks ve
That hull looks familiar!  Are manta's a splash of tahiti hulls?

Looks very similar to the Tahitis http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=462.0  , except for the angled gauges.  I remember Old Rigger saying something about those angled gauges, but cant remember what he said.  I want to say it had something to do with Hawaiian boats  ???

Nice looking boat,  Got to love that foam  ::) ::)

Sounds like a good plan nathan (depending on the curent drain of the amps your thinking about).  Just make sure you use some sort of fuse box up front like Marlin sugested instead of just a distribution block.

Why would you want to see pictures?  Are you planning to run adjustable plates and turn left?  I just want to see yours run so I will know what to do or not do ;)

It would be nice to see another one of these old survivors.  Did you see the one for sale over on PB ?

I would like to upgrade mine to the adjustable plates.  I think it would make it a better all around boat.

I'd like to see mine run too, I'm about sick of polishing parts  :banghead: :banghead:

Sorry for the thread jack Tom.   ;) ;D
