WTB / 460 Twisties WANTED
« on: April 03, 2008, 06:35:04 PM »
Need some long twisties for my 460 Ford. A little rust is okay as long as it isn't too bad. Plan to have them ceramic coated. Will trade my short collector traditional bassets? They're pretty rusty around collector and inside the tips, but I think coating them would fix that. I want to go with twisties to get the extra clearance from interior.

Need some cheap interior/seats for my boat to get me on the water this summer!!! I'm almost ready to buy some of those cheapo plastic seats from Summit Racing just to get me on the water.

Just fired up my 460, basically stock with a cam. I had it running perfectly with an Edelbrock Torquemaster intake, Holley 750 Dbl Pmpr, ProComp ignition (MSD ready to run copy, uses MSD parts) with the lightest springs and most advance (all advance in at low rpm), and bassets. I just added a Weiand Stealth intake and fired it up. Had to bump up idle a hair. I ran it checked for fuel leaks but didn't hook up water yet, so kept running time low. I let it cool for about 30 mins then fired it up again, fires right up and idles great but anytime I rev it, it stumbles. I'm thinking jetting? right now running 72 pri 82 sec and a 6.5 pv. Going to try running water through it and properly warm it up and I will also try and get a vacuum reading tomorrow. Any ideas or am I going in the wrong direction?

Lookin good!!! Just fired mine up with the new intake. Didn't sound right, think I need to re-jet the carb.

Nice ride, and welcome to SoCal   ;)

Now ditch that blue oval and get the BOW TIE in her >:D

2sav ;D

Actually in the next couple of years I do plan to switch over to a bowtie. I love Mustangs and Cobras, but the blue oval gives up too much on the water. I've had to be towed 3 times already :banghead:. Once was rod sticking out oil pan!, I never had any problems when I've had a bow tie in a jetboat. So I will start building a blown 496 and swap out when it's done. For now the blue oval will have to keep me going. But I think I'm going to start launching from Picacho instead of Fisher's just to save on paddling lol.

Here is my project. it's a 50 footer lol, the gelcoat looks like a dry lake bed and the interior got eaten by a dog since this pic. Just put a polished Weiand Stealth intake on it as well as new plug wires and coil (both victims to the previously mentioned dog!). I want to change to twisties and have them coated and then do the interior and paint blue with blue real flames on deck.

$100 is a little too much, would you take $50? I need them! I'll be in San Diego this coming Sunday.
