i`m not sure who originally posted this but i do remember it was someone from this site. so for who ever it was the credit goes to them. i hope this will help you out.
As a wiring technician/enthusiast, I have always been a stickler of sticking to the color code of whatever I'm wiring. Some guys don't really care about the color code...they just want the damn thing to work. However, I prefer the color code for a few reasons:
1) The wiring job looks like a professional did it
2) Easier troubleshooting for you
3) When you go to sell the boat, everything is done to a standard to allow the new owner to troubleshoot easier
So here I will post the marine standard electrical color code for jet boats:
Black - All grounds
Red - Constant hot (all wires that have 12 volts on them regardless of key switch position, "BAT" terminal on key switch)
Purple - Hot In Run (switched hot, controlled by key switch i.e. ignition, gauges, etc, "IGN" terminal on key switch)
White - Hot In Start (runs the starter bendix or aux solenoid)
Light Blue - Oil Pressure Sender; "S" terminal on Oil Pressure gauge
Light Brown or Tan - Water Temperature Sender; "S" terminal on Water Temperature gauge
Grey - Tachometer signal from ignition; "S" terminal on Tachometer
Orange - Bilge Pump hot from switch to pump
Pink - Bilge Blower hot from switch to blower
White/Red - Fuel level sender; "S" terminal on Fuel Level gauge
Yellow - Lights from switch to lights

Hi Beerjet
i`m an electrician and it sounds like you are drawing current. do like Propless suggests and put a meter on the battery. do you have a radio at all. you might have it drawing power just sitting. make sure all your connections are tight. not just on your battery. a loose wire can and will pull some juice from the battery. and check all your grounds on everything. sometimes a loose ground will pull power. good luck.

i don`t know about body for life. it is something that i read in men`s health magazines. also it is one of the things that i read in the Abs Diet. and no you don`t have to stick to it everyday. you can "cheat" anytime you want. i tried this a couple of yrs ago and lost about 20 lbs in a month. i keep it off while i was doing this. then i went through a divorce and didn`t care anymore. needless to say i have gained that back plus some. i need to get back to this again myself. so i know from experience it does work. i also didn`t follow it everyday either but i did try to stick to it. you can make adjustments if you want and as far as cheating it is up to you. but with exercising you don`t lose when you cheat.

i bought a 455 olds engine. i believe it was in a jet boat but not sure. the guy i bought it from said he got it when he bought his boat. it was a spare engine and he had no need for it. i`m not much of an engine guy so my question has to do with the oil modifications. what are they and do you really need them and how do you tell if they have been done. thanks

good luck to you both.
i know that this is going to sound crazy as hell but one way to help you lose weight is to eat between 5-6 meal a day. now not got to McD`s or such but good smaller meals. eat breakfast, small snack around 9, lunch around 12, small snack at 2-3, dinner around 5-6 and maybe a small snack around8-9.
now i`m talking good meals and good snacks. for the snacks you could do either a smoothie or a protein bar, of course fruit or veggies is good also. and for lunch and dinner something good like chicken or fish or salad.
also working out will help. eating like that will actually help to speed up your metabolism. which in turn burns more fat.
just throwing in my .02

if you take a look at my thread on Project Boats ,under the following 1973 wriedt montaro . now mine isn`t in as good a shape as that one or even Glasscutters. but hopefully one day it will. might even have found a 455 to put in it. hopefully nothing wrong with the motor though.
and like Glasscutter said the company is now based in Texas. i sent an email to them trying to find some info on mine and i received a quick reply. they also sent me an old brochure on the boat. was nice to see it.

just another thought here.
mutual funds is a good way to go also. but it is like buying houses. you want to make sure you are willing to go long term. most mutual funds have a history of returning anywhere from 10-20%. but if you decide to go into them you need to look at least 5 yrs before you touch the money.
you are better off with mutual funds then with playing the stock market. you can diversify and buy whatever funds you want.
Fidelity is a good company to go with. you can request a prospectus for each fund you are wanting and it will tell you the history of the fund and the returns on it. of course it isn`t a guarentee that it will do the same amount of return in the future but for the most part they are very stable. even if the market takes a down turn and you don`t have to touch the money you will do ok. and if you can afford to do a monthly amount it can even be better. due to you "buying low, selling high" type of deal. just my .02 worth.

sorry if this isn`t where it is supposed to be but i couldn`t find a spot to put it.
i may have run into a snag with that 73 Montaro. when we bought it all we received was a bill of sale. well come to find out it may be a long process. so far we have not been able to find a HIN. there is an old California boat number on the hull and a sticker.
i was wondering if there was anyone who might be able to contact the tax commission or tag agency in California and maybe see if that number could be used to find a title or a HIN. if someone is willing to do this i will send the info. the tag on the boat is from 1990. if i can find a HIN it would make it so much easier to title here in OK.
also really don`t want to put a bunch of money into just to find out it is stolen or something. any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. thanks. jim
