Although I'm not from the NW or Texas, I'd be interested in coming down for the tour, because I've never boated in socal (except at elsinore in Jan 09). I have heard all about these locations, and have seen pictures, but probably would not tow down to explore for myself. I'd be much more excited about being guided by some experienced boaters--plus it's always more fun to boat as a group.

On a similar note, I noticed that a number of families from the Banderlog board (legally not a "group", but individual families), are going to meet up at the delta July 31-Aug 1, camping at the Tower Park camp ground. I was looking a little closer at your boat, and I'm not sure it is a '77 hondo--hondo jets did not have rounded transoms, all the hondos I've seen had full length stringers, and the bow has different shape (more of a "southwind" shape) with a deeper entry. Is there a HIN stamped on the back right transom? What is written on the title/registration (is there any)? Might be an older model hondo--late 60s, early 70s--the hondo flat bottoms did have the rounded transoms and they were the models for the early jets. Might be time for a little research or expert SJB input.

I had receiver, hitch, wiring done at a local muffler shop--actually the 5th one the guy has installed for me on different vehicles. This last one cost me $325. I wouldn't go anywhere else because the guy custom fabricates each one.

I remember reading through the original discussion of this incident, but don't really remember the details or know any of the parties involved. However, if you are looking for a response--here's mine. It sounds like this dispute stemmed from an unreturned borrowed exhaust log, which escalated when your phone went "dark" (for whatever reason), and then escalated out of control because of your desire to "spank" the person to whom you owed the part and timely communication. I don't understand your decision punish the person who just wanted their log back and couldn't get it back from you. You even admit, "my conscience starts getting to me over this whole thing.." so you knew you were wrong, but your ego, "if you don't like the way this played out, thats to bad because its already a done deal" keeps you from taking responsibility for the dispute. It would have been alot more effective to just say--Sorry, I screwed up, won't happen again. And then you wouldn't have had to avoid the SCJB board all these months.

I kind of suspected that your speedo might be a little off. My guess is that with a fresh pump you should see 60 mph. Main thing--have fun.

I just talked to the guy--it's still for sale. It's here in Fresno so I'm going to go take a look tomorrow. I've already got a 1968 Sanger in the same condition so I really don't want to buy it, but I can eyeball it for all you who might want it.
