i used the 10.99 Fel Pro's from Auto Zone. I think they have some aluminum in them. I would probably not recommend those. They leak a little with my headers even with a little RTV and tightening the piss out of it.

That's what my buddy said too. I think it was from running it last year on a carb that needed a rebuild. It would drip gas out of one of the bowls. So when the boat was WOT it would ping a little. This year, I rebuilt the carb and added OT headers, and the boat ran great no pinging. I am deciding between hypereutetic or forged pistons. Some say the cast ones won't last on a higher RPM motor. I turn about 5K RPMs now, but would expect to turn 5600-5700 next season. I was hoping to get a 850 DP carb and Clay Smith cam with roller rockers and heavy duty springs. Not sure if that will happen this time or it might have to wait until winter.

Heard some nasty knocking at the end of the last trip. I shut it down immediately and floated to shore and load it up. Fired it up and no knocking at idle. Tore down the motor yesterday to find this.

This is a nice set of used bassett water injected headers for the ford fe family. I think it is called jet coating that is on the headers, a high heat powdercoating with a near chrome finish. Headers Only,  Injection lines and muffler inserts are NOT included. I have injection lines along with the tee valve, pressure reducers and spare fittings from the headers to the lines in a different auction. I do not have good luck with ebay shipping calculator, but am always fair with shipping, the headers are 70lbs from 97504. I have gone to BBC and this is the last of my FE stuff except for a cast aluminum oil pan with integrated water pump and stringer mount. I am cleaning out the shop and will be posting more. These will only fit the FE family, ie 360, 390, 406, 427, 428.  They will not fit the 429/460 engine. This auction is for Headers only.

My buddy blew his motor last summer. After rebuilding his 460, his blue top cranked the motor just 3 weeks ago without being on a charger for 1 year.

If you click on "The TX19" on the left side then scroll down, it shows you many builders that produced the TX19 or derivatives of it and California Performance was one of them. I guess it must be a derivative of the TX19, according to the website.

My buddy has pretty much the same boat. Small Eliminator Daytona.... 12 foot??? His has a 40 hp Nissan Outboard. We tested it out today at 7k rpm and 35 MPH. It needs a different prop and should run more in the 5800 rpm range. We'll be at big river this weekend. The little boat pulls hard out of the water and just needs to be re-propped.
