Still trying to figure out how to get pics off the phone and onto the pc.  Microsoft must be in charge of this feature 'cause it is fubar.

I carry my phone in my back pocket and beat the sheet out of it. My Razr has survived the best. The LG clone of the razr suks - it is a pussy metro sexual kinda phone.

Meanwhile I got old and now my eyes are going. So I keep looking for a phone where you can set the display to "BIG FUGGIN TEXT SIZE". Some models do, some don't - most only change some display size but not all. So I can see a BIG PHONE # but a really small contact info.

So if they have better features on the Razr now then I'm going back to it or at least use it as the role model.

I guess I must not have explained myself very well. In the photo, there is a yellow circle around a "hole". There is one on each side of my transom area. This hole is where I cut away top engine deck back when I started my engine relo. Now, (years later) I have designed and fabbed a new transom area. There is a bulkhead/rear seat back which you can see in the photos. There is also a hinged lid which you can see in the photo on the left.

Now all I have left to do is fill in the openings on either side with glass. I just don't know how to do this because I'm not thinking like a guy in the prototype department of a boat manufacturer. One thought I had was to somehow plug the holes with foam, then shape the foam to blend in with the contours of the hull deck. Then I would have to figure out how to shave the surface of the foam down below the final surface so that I could add cloth and resin back to come up to the surface and feather into the surrounding hull deck glass.

I guess this job is kind of like trying to re-glass the intake opening for the pump. If you took out the pump intake you would have a (simple) hole in the bottom of the hull. If you wanted to fill this opening, (b4 cutting a new hole), how would you do it? In my case, the shape of the opening is much more complicated than the intake hole example...

One day I was at MPD and saw someone's race boat in there. They had used 2 sets of 4-wire trailer wire + flat connectors for the engine sensor harness and from there up to a term block near the dash. That gave them 8 wires from block to dash. They made sure to alternate the sex of the connectors so it was idiot proof. When the engine comes out they just grab the connectors and pull apart. No messing with screws and term blocks.

I thought at the time that this was a damn clean way to do it and yet keep the cost down. This winter I am going to do the same. The trailer wires come in long lengths pre-connected to the flat connectors which are water/element proof. On the engine side you need about 6'-8' and on the run to the dash about 20'.

Hi all! I have a friend with a tournament ski boat who is having trouble. Here's his story:

"It’s an 88 Sanger Comp Ski Boat 21’ with a 351 PCM engine.

The tach is reading double while idling nicely and runs smooth up to around 4000 (2000) when the engine starts to sputter and cut-out. We put in new points, cap, plugs, coil, fuel filter, fuel, oil filter and oil.  I checked the voltage on the shunt resistor and it was 4v, so the coil’s running about 9.  I just ripped the carb out to give it a good cleaning.  It’s a Holly 4bbl single pump with vacuum actuated secondaries.  The actuator had a split diaphragm, so it wasn’t working, but it’s rare that we get to that point, and gagging way before that.  I gave the carb to a repair shop. I’ll have the carb back in this weekend to see if that clears things up, but it still seems electrical to me."

Do any of you have opinions on what the tach reading 2X might indicate? This is not a situation where he changed the tach settings or bought a new tach - it just up and started reading 2 times higher. Thanks for any suggestions!

It's good that you are thinking about this b4 trying it out! I'm wondering if anybody has a common sense way to check. I mean... couldn't you fire up the engine out of the water and hold your hand (or a flat piece of wood) over the end of the pipe and feel if you are getting any overlap? (I don't know I'm not that good of an engine guy.) If you had any cam overlap wouldn't it create some suction?
