Oh.... And what confuses me is the boat idled and ran fine all last summer with no fuel regulator. Brand new carb as of early summer last year. I'm lost.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Fuel pressure problems....
« on: April 21, 2012, 07:30:06 PM »
I have a mechanical Holley fuel pump feeding a 750 double pumper Holley. I have an inline gauge on the fuel rail and at idle it reads 10-12 psi. Isn't it supposed to be more like 6-7 psi? I won't idle and I'm assuming this is why. Too much pressure. Should I put a fuel pressure regulator on it? And if so which one?

I was looking at this one. Whatcha think? Thanks.

Thanks everyone. Does anyone know what length bolt I would need?

131
I believe they are 1/4-20 but I don't know the length. But yeah that would be cool. Shoot me some measurements and which bolts you chose. About 50 different kinds on the mcmaster Carr site. Thanks.

« on: April 20, 2012, 07:19:40 PM »
I have a set of the fabricated aluminum valve covers I want to put on my hallett. I've looked and cannot find any of the Allen head long bolts. Does anyone know where to get these. Or post a link to the bolts. Thanks.

Definately lean pop. Or you have an exhaust leak at the head. It's not going to hurt anything. If you have a fuel screw adjust it to richen it up a bit. Remember how much you turned it so you can put it back to where it was when you get home.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: need serious help with fuel tanks
« on: December 25, 2011, 02:46:45 PM »
I recently went through this. I had fiberglass tanks in my hallett and the passenger side tank was leaking. I tried to patch it up again and again. But no luck. I finally had to find some aluminum tanks and put them in my boat. But like others have said....get rid of those fiberglass tanks as soon as possible. It is just an accident waiting to happen. Take it from me.
