Harbor freight 8" buffing wheel and some rouge. Wasn't a shiny spot on any of my aluminum, a few hours later and bam. Spent maybe 25 bucks on it all. Don't have a buffer, hf has one for 40 bucks as well. 3500 rpm set it on high and there you go. It doesn't come with a nut or backing plate so I also bought a buffer backing plate that had a washer and nut

WTB / Re: Electric fuel valve
« on: February 21, 2013, 08:52:31 AM »
I have a valve for an 80 something chevy truck that im gonna use. Was somewhere around 40 bucks  from Napa and the only reason I went that way was because when flipping the switch to each tank it switches sending units as well to display the tank in use. Most other valves I found didn't and it made it easier for me so I didn't have to run more wires and add another switch because I already had a switch on the dash to check both tanks

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Carb Problems
« on: February 21, 2013, 07:28:08 AM »
I have never had problems with letting carbs sit with gas. Hell my wife grounded me from my chevelle about 4 months back and I fired it up last night and gave it hell. Even the holley on the boat I got now sat for near 5 years with gas in it as well as the tanks and I still have the varnish left to prove it. Took some wd40 and loaded up the bowels through the over flows cranked the engine and pumped the hell outta  the pedal. Did that twice and motor fired as soon as the fresh gas hit it.

Something else is goin on. I agree with 76nordic, diy or find another guy to rebuild

The ge stuff is good just like bj said. When you go to buy it check the bottom of the tube, sometimes Hd and Lowes will get a old batch and the bottom plug will start pushing out and its no good. It will never cure.

Yah laziness in children is getting worse now a days but the main problem with that is parents. I have been extremely fortunate with this little girl, when I married her mother two and a half years ago we got along but there was always that stand off ish attitude. It seems that my adhd has actually brought us together closer than i ever though we could be, i cant sit still, always moving doing something. If its not the boat, its the RC short course trucks, RC rock crawlers, chevelle, wheeling in my 84 k5, messing around in the garage or just doin things around the house and yard work and all the while she's right by my side. I think my insanity amuses her to some degree but I'm pretty sure she just enjoys my crazy ideas but we are damn near inseparable. And between our shenanigans and her softball and gymnastics this little girl is just like me. Just wont stop or say no to a challenge or learning something new and that's why she's as skinny as an Ethiopian, 10 years old and only 64 pounds.

You know how I know god has a sense of humor........he gave me two girls.

Find a good welder and have the primary tubes shortened right off the header flange. Should be able to bring em in atleast an inch and a half and maybe roll em in to gain some more space

when i was growing up i polished my dads motor... by hand.  kids these days have it easy.

Your father must of hated you to have you do that lol. She came outside and asked what I was doin and wanted to help. Standing at 4 foot tall she's a whopping 64 pounds and she worked that 20 pound buffer for almost a full hour before she told me she couldn't feel her arms, and she buffed the entire log and snail. Even asked me this morning if she could do the other one after school today.

Any one Need anything polished? Lol
