 Allright Bahner boy thats about enough lip out of you !   It realy dosnt matter what pistons you use because the only time any of your "project boats" get wet is wen you wash them  .  Why dont you save yourself some money and stress and just sit in the boat makeing vroom vroom noises while the wife mists you with a hose  .  Besides every one knows Chevy powered boats are faster on the trailer than on the water.  

 IMO, A jet hydro would take way more power to go fast than a jet tunnel .  Reason beeing the tunnel can hold the trapped air all the way to the transom (creating more lift) and the hydro cant, it will escape from the sides behind the front sponsons (less lift aft of the sponsons).  Hydros work best with a prop that can create lift to fly the hull.  Think flatbottom with training wheels (the little front sponsons).  I'm not saying it cant be done (anything is possible with enough power), but again IMO an 18/19 ft tunnel or gullwing will out perform the jet hydro easily . 

 If I'm thinking about this wrong let me know.

Hmmm , I just looked at the Daytona and it has a spacer between the mounting piece and the hull .  Looks like the hull was not deep enough there to fit it all inside, maybe thats the reason for your spacer ?

That is a good start at getting rid of Jetskis, now if we can find someone to mount Seadoos to bass boats the world will be a safer place.

 I can understand why you didnt want to run that motor ,  nothing sucks more than broken motors .  I wouldnt know myself but thats what I hear from the Chevy guys. 

Once again , side stepping the more important stuff  Oh well , My money is on your foot wont stay in it over 50mph  which leaves you rub rail racing with Jetaholic  . Your just splittin hairs with this fuel bullshit and it doesn't matter what fuel your gonna run , your gonna be fuelin up constantly . See ya in the weeds , SUCKERRRRRRRRRRR !

Skip just speculating but often times the "noise" you think is coming form the  dampner while runing on the trailer is what we call "machine noise" ,noise that transfers thru the motor from the driveline and jet .I manifests itself as a kind of loud ocillating growl  Tom

 Thats a good point,  My boat sounds funny running on the trailer but as soon as its in the water it sounds fine (some load on the pump and driveline).
