Not quite what I had in mind, Tom, but you guys know better than me. We'll see when I get into it. Right now it's the engine and a few other surprises, but I really wanted to keep the "condom" , as Skip called it, over the pump and the original steering I think CAN work. Much like it's old throttle linkages...............   Not the prettiest, but allowed the configuration I wanted on the T/R, worked like SNAP, and all plug readings were even...........

Great pics though if I have to revert my thinking on it! Thanks Bro! On way or anoher, it will be dne and WILL have much more roost

Yes, those detectors are designed  to all go off if one goes off. Could be batteries, but if they're at or beyond the 5 year point (Manufacturers say 10 years, which is BS, at least here in arrid environments), time for Brandon to invest in some new detectors. All of 'em. Finding the one thats causing it is futile for the 50 bucks or so for new ones. 

Also, I know here in the PHX area, the local fire departments will come and check them out, and even replace them for you if you already have them, for free.

You have no idea dude! The whole story of that day is funny as hell, well, now it is, wasn't at the time. 

I'm wondering about your mention of fiberglass tanks? Mine were aluminum? Regardless, E85 (From another discussion over on PB that Proppy and I started) is perfectly fine with fiberglass. Someone even mentioned it's stored in 'glass tanks at many facilities. If anything, I'd be more concerned with it on aluminum parts (alcohol eats aluminum) and not store it with fuel in the tanks, otherwise you should be fine.

John, I'd love to dive that wreck and see whats left! That swim deck was perfect! But, its been under about 175 feet of water for a year and a half........ cant save a thing now,

  Funny stuff! But true. You're in the bestest hands in the world with Dave and Paul, to be sure! I stand corrected on my earlier post. I meant it for ME and noone else.

All us motor heads easily, and collectively, say "Yeah, go ahead and do it, and then also do this while you're at it"  when it's not us that have to live with the result of some truly unuseable monster we've built, or grenade in many cases!  . I'm guilty as hell of this.

I'm not throwing Nordie under the bus here, more me throwing MYSELF under the bus, but he is really experienceing the results from that. Killer motor, blower cam specs, dry headers, etc, etc. One bad ass BBC. BUT, the everyday use, ease and flexibility of maintenance, just being able to simply launch the damn thing with many on board and have a fun day on the water is an excercize in futility. All that is gone now. Now, kids, or you, will get burned on the pipes if you get within 10 feet of them even an hour after beaching and on the water you're not only looking around while driving, watching guages, running the throttle, F/R lever, Diverter, and NOW you add in a water valve for the headers depending on RPM......Takes a lot of the pleasure out of a pleasure craft.

Ignore my earlier post liking the idea of the blower cam. Listen to Paul and Dave, drop the C/R (Mill off the pistons, cheaper than new ones if they're good pistons), use a lil more agressive STD cam available everywhere if max HP is what your after. You will get far more HP from proper cam selection for the intended real life useage, induction system planned, C/R that is flexible, and a bottom end to support the package than C/R will give you alone on pump gas. Just MHO.

Me? Yeah, custom blower cam on my Moo, among other things, but I got 5 others here to play around with everyday as well!  That boat is designed to do and prove something and accomplish only ONE thing.

Thanks everybody for the help !!!  Thats why I love this place, someone here always has experience to help even if its not boat related.     Sometimes the hardest part of a repair is figuring out WTF someone did to it before and why. 

 BTW, I think they did the same thing in the other bathroom, that toilet is loose too. 


   

Well, looks to me, and Glenn will probably concurr, this aint the first time there's been a problem with toilets on your foundation.

Looking very clean Brad! I just gotta wonder, and this is just the devil's advocate in me noticing this, the fuel tank right behind your head? It's not a fuel cell........just......well......would be concerned bro.
